I am trying to use the title & author of the document as heading on
every page. I am using article style & fancyhdr package.
I am using the command \lhead{\title} \rhead{\author} in the preamble,
but this leads to empty headings (probably because in the preamble
those are not filled yet
prefer the elegance of a modular
workflow based on a single master-document and multiple child-documents.
Especially as in this stage I am working with different people on different
chapters at the same time.

not know the final notation yet. You can insert a math macro
definition using the "\foo :=" button the extra-toolbar, and insert an
instance using \yourmacroname in the math editor.

the attached file is the reduced form of a template i have prepared
into which i edit the path to and the name of the document when
using it (doing a tiny bit of bash scripting).
1.) Open the file with RC1 from the command line, in my case

That's only true for the last window. In fact there are quite a lot
of other Mac apps which behave this way (although I agree that even
without a window the application should keep running). As long as you
have more than one window the red button will only close that one.

I have experienced several times, that Lyx itself creates errors in latex code.
I suddenly have errors in the middle of simple text and the conversion of the
document to anything else fails. Also sometimes when opening a document it gets

Yes I have reopened all my pics in ImageMagic. I convert them to eps.
I have installed as well tex2pdf and follow the instructions.
Worked fine.
