IIRC, the 914 uses a Porsche transaxle, but the bellhousings, like
most rear/mid-engine Porsche units will match up with all the VW
horizontally opposed engines. So, any engine swap kit designed for a
VW transaxle should work with a Porsche unit as well.
A 914/tdi combo would be pretty enticing.
Yeah, you either love or hate the 914. I love 'em, but I love tiny
mid-engine cars in general. When I was a kid I wanted to have a 914

cars into hot rods (6.3/6.9).
The reason they produced performance 201's is that it is a very good chassis
