If you see ANY cracks in it, especially little arc-shaped ones near the steel sleeves that the bolts go through, then replace it. Btw the most effective way to separate those things is to get a foot long piece of steel that is the diameter of the bolts, stick it into the bolt hole

If you can get a factory rebuild at that price, go for it! It will have ALL of the upgrades in it, so it will be much more reliable. A used trans out of another w210.025 is likely to be worn as well; very few change the ATF in them, and unless it interchanges wih a gasser tranny, there

Nope, as Rolf/Mitch/Kaleb have pointed out, transmission swap alone would not affect your speedometer accuracy. If your car is a 1983, and you left the differential and the speedometer alone when you installed the '85 tranny, your speedometer should be just as accurate as it was before the swap.

Yup low speed vibrations tend to be a torn bushing on the carrier bearing. On a hill with lots of torque applied it will be much more pronounced. They flex discs bolts do come loose if they are reused and liberal amounts of loctite were not applied. I have done them on my car 3x now.
