awfully convenient to be able to rotate the blade into position without having
to move the handle...

Which Atlas saw do you have?
We've got the Bauer ultra cheapie one which has been a solid saw other than the
tensioner stinks. The Atlas appears to have a more convention chain tensioning
system.
I really like electric for a trimming saw because of the way the saw stops
pretty much immediately
I was telling a friend last week that Harbor Freight tools have really improved
in the last 10 years and I think the electric tools are where the real
improvement has taken place.
I've got one of the very cheap Central Electric angle grinders, I think it was
$20 or less, that I bought to cut of
I'd always assumed a 240D 3.0 would be an "adequately powerful 240D".
As somebody who lives where its kind of hilly a 240D with its 50mph max
sustained hill climbing speed was a drag. I used to hit some hills at 70mph so
I could crest at 55. A 190D has the same power but a little less weight an
I was astonished when I started driving a TDI and finally had a turbo that's
spooled and working at 900 rpm. The turbo is so much more effective on those
cars.
I've never driven a newer MB diesel, I'd hope the turbo gets going sooner...

It's time to give up on the idea of EVs as economy cars...

I don't expect substantial rate cuts any time soon. 0% interest is not
reasonable...

I'm teaching in Las Vegas, we got maybe 1/3 to 1/2 eclipse here. One of my
friends had eclipse glasses so we got a pretty good look.
Sadly the great northern estate was right in the path of the totality. Wish I'd
been able to be there. A bunch of my family went...

Sadly no. I've got to be in Las Vegas...
Apparently most of my family is going to be there.
The estate is mostly ready to go except the well pump needs a new pressure
switch. It looks like the one on there is original. Jim Cathy said the pump
looked to be 100 years old. Pretty good service...
Oh
We saw a newish G500 in Caribou the other day. I opined that I'd like one of
these old ones. I think MB USA really missed out by not having them available...
