I can't seem to build an SSL enabled httpd binary from the sources and

After a fresh* install of FreeBSD 4.8, I can build Apache alone with

I've recently tried to add mod_ssl to the configuration and the apache

Hi,
I have successfully installed mod_ssl with Apache 1.3.3. Everything
worked fine. Then I installed Apache 1.3.4 and compiled it with mod_perl.
Now mod_ssl no longer works.
It gives me this error in the log file.

I know this has been asked before, but for compiling:
Apache 1.3.3
mod_ssl mod_ssl-2.0.13 (or 14, now) -1.3.3
mod_perl-1.16
What are the proper compile steps (for a RH 5.1 x86 system)? I seem to
(vaguely) remember something about order of compilation being important.
Thanks!

Compiled without error.
However, when trying to connect using https it just hangs.
from error_log :

This is an IP based virtual host, no other virtual host directives exist for
this IP, and SSLEnable do
