We're talking about a Windows machine, right? I don't have any of
those these days but it sounds to me like it didn't thoroughly
uninstall.
If that much is correct, I'd first be suspicious of junk left in the
registry or data directories. Even if it meant I had to install it
again, I'd use
off the firewall to see if that made any
difference and it didn't.
Any assistance is welcome.
He did find that you can't really uninstall although he used the wizard
to remove the program and the uninstall programs.

I've made a mess of this MySQL installation. I would like to uninstall and start
over.
- Started out installing via YaST
seemed to work but couldn't find MySQL or run it
- Tried installing binaries
had trouble running 'make install' (installed 'make' via YaST but never did find
I used YaSt to uninstall - though I wasn't really happy with the uninstall because I
used the find command on 'mysql' and found lots of stuff that was left behind after
the uninstall.
Anyway I then reinstalled with rpm -i
It probably isn't working 100% yet but it is working enough that I can
with Zero KB for its size (?). It definitely is
one of the files that I dragged back from the trash.
Should I attempt to fix all of this, or go ahead with an uninstall?

If you installed it using the binaries it's as simple as,
rpm -e package-name

if get this, try install the _SAME_ package(rpm -i or rpm -Uv) a then
run rmp -e.
if above failed try manualy delete all files created by this rmp (rpm
-ql) and then run rpm -e --noscripts --notriggers --nodeps.

I am just learning MySQL and would like to uninstall so that I can
reinstall. I have tried the Windows method but the Uninst.isu file cannot
be found. I am considering this database for a software application and
this ability will be needed in testing. Please advise.

It's not possible to connect anymore. The system asked for a new
password but didn't accept the new one.

I installed mySQL on windows 2000 pro. I am interested in using it for one of my
sites. It has been causing some problems since I put it on my computer, and Every
time I try to uninstall it, it wont let me I get an error message. Please help me
