Is it possible to reload the KDE desktop using a shell command
without restarting the X server? How does an installation program sets an
icon on the desktop?

My system is a Dell Dimension 667 with 128 meg of ram. It does have usb. I
have turned off pnp. I do not see any mention of shadow ram or energy
conservation like features in the setup.

Something has apparently happened to my
/var/lib/rpm/packages.rpm file:

I created a bootable floppy from a Win98 installation.
C:\ > format \S A:
& copied fdisk from Win98 to the floppy.
A:\ > fdisk /mbr did the trick

password, but you could either make 6 queues (one for every user,
