In which directory is the Linux kernel compiled? I am tryin to give the
command 'make menuconfig' or 'make xconfig' in the directory /usr/src/linux
but it gave me an error:
no target to make menuconfig.
I assume that I'm in the wrong directory. Would appreciate your help.

I'm having problems with my X interface. I can login in text mode but the
startx would give me a blinking screen.
I checked out www.xfree86.org and found that my chipset "Trident Blade 3D"
is supported. However, i followed the instructions to set it up using
xf86config to no avail.
True...also when you transfer files from windows to LM you have to check the
properties of the file and change it accordingly. For e.g I have a data set
with .xyz extension and LM read it as an executable file so I checked off
the exec in the file properties and the icon changed to a paper

I'm not so sure if this will work. I was just asking my friend about
installing/uninstalling Lilo.
From what I've learned to install type 'lilo -i' at the prompt and 'lilo -u'
to uninstall.
don't know though if you can do this w/ the Linux boot disk.

now I have a higher resolution in my screen (800x600) though I did not try

program terminated the install for the reason that my system or whatever was

I followed the instructions in my LM 7 install guide for the ZIP drive but
it does not work. I used /dev/sdb4
I checked my SCSI and the following were found.

I created the boot disk during installation and it won't boot.
Message is; error 0X10.
I tried viewing the files inside under Linux and message says 'can't read
the files' but I can read other disks.

I have 2 hard disk, one dedicated to Windows and the other one, new. Have
not been partitioned nor formatted by either Windows or Linux. And, I plan
to install Linux on my new disk.
I have two queries regarding installation.
1)
I plan to disconnect my Windows disk and setup the new disk as
mCommander Deluxe( which includes its on
patitioning option) or PatitionMagic ( which includes BootMagic). they are
both good programs and each runs around $50 .

I would highly recommend that you proof-read your manuals before it goes to
