I had a similar problem. First make sure you can mount the CD-RW manually. I think the installer is smart enough to determine the drive is CD-RW, so it sets up the SCSI emulation for you. It just doesn't change fstab to reflect this. Try (assuming you want to mount it on /mnt/cdrom2): mount -
