those to boot your computer and do your partitioning? this will avoid
doing anything from win95 if that is what causing the problem with pm,

I too have been battling a modem install under 7.1 all weekend. Tried
all the timeout tricks on this list, tried the noauth option - still no
go.
In the end i had to download a program called qppp i think it was, and
that did the trick once it was configured.
But using either ppp under Linux
Windows does not play well with others. It has to be installed
first in a dual boot system.

Well I got Kppp working now everytime I log into Linux I have to change
the IRQ for ttyS2 to 5. How can I change it and get it to be

Am trying to run the new Drak tools with Mandrake 7.1. All were
installed by rpm and no dependancy problems showed. Drakfont works fine and is a
nice step towards beautifying my desktop.

Hello! I have noticed when installing mandrake 7 or 7.1 and you
configure a network in the installation process, you cant access the
iInternet using KPPP. What I mean is that when I try to use KPPP, it
keeps reseting when it tries to log on. It doesnt give errors but KPPP

With 7.0 the g++ libraries are not installed in the standard
installation therefore I can't compile any C++ source. Does anyone know
what RMP I need to install to fix this.

put them in your /etc/aliases file. take a look in there and you will likely
find some aliases pre-defined.
the general format is ALIASNAME=ALIASVALUE (you don't have to capilize.)
one good place to start is from any terminal, type:
"help aliases" if your shell is bash (omit the quotes).

Can you see your zip drive at all or just can't access it? If you don't
see it at all, there is a thread just a couple of days ago that worked
