The ln command is for making a link to the file. It is similar to a
windows shortcut but much more powerful (you can ln directories, files,
etc.). /usr/local/ isn't normally in your path. If you wanted to add
it, you could do it in one of two places ,
/home/your_directory/.bash_profile or
