There is no plan to end CD installs long term, AFAIK. However, I also
not sure when they will be returning.

Are we seeing the end of the line for doing CD installs and therefore we can

So if there is sufficient interest in a MIPS project, I would be happy to get
the ball rolling by formally proposing the creation of such a project under the
Emerging Platforms CG.
I'd just need to know the charter and who wants to be the project leads.

The manifest is defined in /var/svc/manifest/network/rpc/rstat.xml
Trye to see if you can start the default exec_method from the cmd line, such as:
/usr/lib/netsvc/rstat/rpc.rstatd
Also verify its deps are running well, e.g. svc:/network/rpc/bind

Thanks for the update.
Do you think something could be posted to announce to let everyone know?

The service won't start and there isn't a reason:
svcs -xv svc:/network/rpc/rstat:default
svc:/network/rpc/rstat:default (kernel statistics server)
State: maintenance since Thu Oct 23 20:25:31 2008
Reason: Restarter svc:/network/inetd:default gave no explanation.

Hi,
I am trying to port a linux app to OpenSolaris OS. There is a API used in
linux codes that I don’t know how to port to OpenSolaris:
ioctl(fileFD, FIBMAP, &FsBlock)
Any one pleases help, tell me how to do this, find out a FileSystemBlock of the
offset in a file, in OpenSolaris.
Many thank

Just from my point of view, I've seen quite a bit of push from Sun
sales guys about 'Open Storage'.
If Sun are touting OpenSolaris as the OS for this low cost DIY
storage platform, they won't do themselves any favors by delaying
releases without explanation.
It can't be hard to write a one

Sun *is* talking to the community, simply because they consider

So YOU or I have no right to complain.

NO INTEREST whatsoever.

No note explaining the delay. Not very 'open' is it?
b101 on consolidation doesn't contain all the files either.
Not comparing Opensolaris with Linux or BSD for a minute, but at least with
something like OpenSUSE you get a basic explanation for delays in releases.
