Listmates, I should have stayed with xorg 7.2, but I just had to load 7.3. I'll learn one of these days. The problem. compiz was working in 7.2 with the 8.42 ati driver. Now compiz will not load with fusion-icon anymore and a compiz --replace & gives the black screen on death.

I am running 10.2 and about to convert to 10.3. I have always wondered why rpms are downloaded and then installed. And then the next one downloaded Instead of downloading the next RPM to be installed while the previous one is being installed with a potential delay if the second download beat
