Winamp start pause and stop

Every time I have installed Winamp, it wants to default to fading in and out when a file starts, stops, and pause/restart. I would like to make it start and stop abruptly. I think it has to do with a plug-in. Can anyone explain what I should do to achieve this action? Thank you very much.

Of course, when you use an FM transmitter, you don't get the full frequency range. Doesn't matter to me because I'm old and my high frequencies are fading. Also depends upon if it's a legal FM transmitter; the upper frequency limit is 15 KHz. A good hi-fi stereo system will produce 20KHz. I
