My personal assessment:
The ME F is absolutely identical to the ME Super in _all_ respects except...
1.Operates autofocus with only one lens, the SMC AF 35-70/2.8. They are
relatively scarce. The autofocus motor is in the lens and batteries must be
installed in the lens. The lens is nothing
It's basically a ME Super with an early AF system added. It's a little
bigger than the ME Super, and there are extra controls on the top for the
AF system. In the viewfinder you get extra LEDs for focus confirmation,
which works with manual focusing.

sort of extra control to set the aperture on the body. It would be
nice but would somewhat undermine the simplicity of design Pentax appears

It said that it is much better then Vivitar and not much more expesive.

With that all said, I have several pictures around taken with that lens. 1
8x10, and several 5x7's. It's certainly a different viewpoint than a 28mm.
However, I have taken maybe 5 pictures with it since getting the Zenitar.

without any corrections. At the paper that I worked at we developed and
scanned our own negs, color and b&w, and I ~always~ made corrections to the

Hey, that makes sense. Not!
If no one bought new LX where did the used LX come from. They
were in production longer than any of their contemporaries. I
know Pentax hides its light under a bushel, but even they would
hardly manufacture a camera that didn't sell for almost 20
years.
