is RAW. No lossy compression is used.
One practical difference is how well compressed the RAW files are, and
that affects your long-term file storage. Makes a difference when you
have fifty thousand of them.

For the K5's raw file size, 16 GB cards might offer the best compromise
between capacity, cost & redundancy (eggs/baskets).

higher and they came out fine in AWB. I shoot DNG's, my LR can handle
the Pefs but my PS is old and does not handle the PEFs. I find LR 4
handles any noise just fine. I used to shoot raw/jpeg so i could load
up a jalbum quikly
I have no problems shooting in AWB with the K-5. I always make sure I have some
frames with gray or white in them, so I can readjust white balance when
converting if necessary, but AWB usually nails it. Tungsten light would be an
exception, but as long as you have that gray or white reference yo

You are going to LOVE the K-5. I think you will be happy with the AWB
in most situations.
You will need SD cards instead of the CF cards that the *istD uses
(and thus a different card reader/adapter). The cheap USB adapters on
ebay work fine.

I second that. Lots of features, non-obvious UI. Work great when you
figure 'em out though.
Also, give all the contacts (eg inside the battery compartment) a good
cleaning. My 540's have been acting up lately and I found I had to clean
off the battery contacts thoroughly to fix that. Batteries

photos where the 360 was short on power.

If I remember correctly as for the Sigma 70-200/2.8, here are the
different modern versions:
- 70-200/2.8 EX DG
- 70-200/2.8 EX DG Macro II (a bit less good than the former)
- 70-200/2.8 EX DG Macro HSM (which really wasn't HSM in its Pentax
version but often refered as being HSM in shops)
- 70-20

I should explain that Sky isn't my name but name of step daughter who
really raised both my and my wifes blood pressure to the moon. Thankfull
she no longer lives with us but has left us a legacy of her daughter who
is now 2 1/2. This is an email addy i set up for her but she never used,

They also make the sd card pockets separately to thread onto your camera strap.
I have on on each camera strap and 2-3 sd cards in each.
I'll run out of battery juice before I can fill all the cards.
