I had the same problem with a 1400c. The lefthand screwhole was broken off, but the righthand one was OK. So I simply used some "super glue" to glue the lefthand side to the CD drive. That was 6 months ago. So far, it's held up OK. New drive doors/covers can be bought, but they're very pricey.
