I'm having a problem sending mail through my qmail server to outside
servers. I think I've set up qmail to allow relaying just as described.
Let's say my IP is 1.2.3.4 for the mail server and the client is 1.2.3.5.
The mailhost's name is my.mailhost.com.

trying my qmail-server with outlook now i encountered some strange things like
outlook sending to another outlook the adress of my server as answer to: adress

I have been alarmed by a posting on linux-kernel that there are several
mail applications and MTA's that emit incorrect date/timestamp values.
I sent a test message using qmail-inject and found that timestamps are
generated using UTC but the correct timezone specification (UTC/GMT/+)
is

the internet ie via a modem dialup.
For all I can see the pat/nat works fine and they connect rapidly to all
other servers on my network including af test server I have running sendmail.
What could make the connect time so extremely slow ?

I want to set qmail up as shown in "life with qmail".
So far no problem, but I noticed that one process
causes a peak of cpu-load every second. This happens
only when I start qmail with the lwq-script 'qmail start'.
Starting qmail in the "classic" way '/var/qmail/rc &' makes
no trouble.
