Check to see if these setting will work for you:
hdparm -d1 -c1 -m16 -u1 /dev/hd

Erratas weren't clear to me.
Erratas aren't clear to me.
It was a problem of dependencies resolution that
a rpm following solve. So I installed the rpm(s)
which problem occured and then apply the rpm that
correct this problem of dependencies resolution.

Are you using RedHat 8.0? I've never succesfully compiled a kernel yet
under RH8 using either gcc 3.2 or 2

you can use xargs to get rid of that whitespace in the protocol declaration:
BLOCKED_SERVICES="tcp,111,Sun RPC;\
udp,111,Sun RPC;\
tcp,443,Microsoft DS;\
udp,443,Microsoft DS"
IFS=";"
for SERVICE in $BLOCKED

It is not an ssh problem as ssh seems to be doing it's job, once it
get's to the point where it provides a login shell, it has already done
everything it does. Do you see the motd of a new mail message before you
are disconnected?
At a minimum, the user's home directory must be owner executabl
Hi,
We've noticed in our lab that the machines that have IDE hard disks run
their write operations(ie- things that use a lot of swap space) much more
slowly than when we execute the same sort of operations in WIndows machines
(Matlab, for example), and orders of magnitude slower than the machines
