Hi,
First, check what partitions exists on the disk.
it sounds like the first partition on the disk is very small.
depending on the output of the fdisk /dev/hd p option, one can deside
if you want to repartition or if you only want to mount another partition.

What is a secure way to serve files for a Red Hat box?
I looked at AFS, but it doesn't appear to be in Red Hat 7.3, and I
would rather get security updates from one source.
I looked at tunneling nfs through ssh, but that opens up holes for
local users on the host box.
Is there a good solution?

Michael George,
I would check your /etc/init.d/sshd file for any IP addresses being blocked or allowed.
Also, check your general /etc/hosts.deny and /etc/hosts.allow files.
I just joined this list today. Greetings all!

I'd try commenting out the 'restrict 127.0.0.1' on both machines, then
restart ntpd.

You need to add the domain name(s) to /etc/mail/sendmail.cw on the
192.168.1.6 box, so that it knows it's supposed to accept mail for that
domain.

Sendmail is hanging up on boot, so I turned it off. I upgraded to 8.0
yesterday. I don't have a network setup and Mozilla mail seems to run
just fine with it turned off. Is there any reason to turn it back on?

I have been struggling to get large file support in RH 8.0.
It seems to me that everything I try to do fails due to there being no
large file support compiled into the utilities that come with the OS -
eg ftpd, gftp, cp, rcp bla bla.
Is there a version of RH that I can download which has everyt
I'm trying to upgrade my 6.2 server. What I really want is a current
kernel (I'm running 2.2.14.)
Right now I'm in the Linux (or at least Red Hat) version of 'DLL-Hell'. I
gues we'd call it 'RPM-Hell'.
The server currently has rpm 3.0.4. Most of the RPMs on the updates site

I would consider giving the script the full path to the named file. In my
named script, mine is more like:

I've been using FreeVCS on a windows platform, I don't know what's the
equivalent on Linux. Quite satisfied, and the price is, well, outstanding.
