I give you my advise about squirrelmail.. I have the software working

I installed Squirrel Mail a while back (I think from RPM). For it to
work, Sendmail needs to be operating as in IMAP4 not POP3 mode.
Our set up put a file squirrelmail.conf in the /etc/httpd/conf.d
directory. This file then redirects all domain names to SquirrelMail.

When I installed squirrelmail, it was running under user 1000. I
changed it to root. That might not be the right thing but I figured if
root couldn't create the directories no other user could. :-)
I tried chmod 775 but that didn't work. Any other ideas?

The reason for using SquirrelMail, as comes from a number of folks I know
who use it:
It's easy, it works, it's simple to set up, and most of their users don't
need all the bells and whistles of IMP, Twig, etc.
FWIW, I was never able to get IMP to work, so I went with Twig. Th
Why are you even using SquirrelMail? Try IMP, that should work alot better for
you but it does require a bit more tweaking than SquirrelMail, but is worth the
extra effort. Just my 0.02 cents.
