I'm running SA on Windows XP, also installed and running on this PC is Kiwi
Cattools and MRTG.
When it stops, the serversalive.exe process uses up 100% C
I had given up with MSN alerts for a while, so this is good to see !
After upgrading, I got MSN alerts for each of the entries that were down and it
looks like it's been working since then, fingers crossed :)

When using CTRL D to copy a host, the Host ID is also duplicated. I've started to setup RRDLogging and as that uses the Host ID would it be better if a new Unique Host ID was used?
Also, if you use CTRL D and then change your mind and press Cancel would it be better

The DNS address I was using was mistakenly resolving to two different IP addresses. Hence Servers Alive was failling becaue it was checking the wrong IP / wrong host.
Sorted now by slapping the DNS administrator (who happens to be me:) )

Unfortunately it is a very generic error message that isn't related to
CPU / free memory etc. It is likely that you will have messages in the
event log related to this message. Might be worth checking that and
looking them up in something like www.eventid.net or groups.google.com.

Servers Alive has completed it's check cycle, you then need to refresh
