I get a bit of drift with just a couple of Pis and a Joggler synced
together when using Spotify. When the drift occurs they resync quite
quickly but it is noticeable.

Without iPeng LMS is a great music server but its controlability,
although still light years ahead of most uPnP/DLNA equivalents, is
missing something. That something is iPeng. It is the missing piece that

1) Try Squeezeplay instead of SoftSqueeze - you can find it on the
signature of any post by "Ralphy"
2) Look at the wi-fi settings on your Router - do you have any client
isolation going on ? This would stop LMS from seeing wireless based
clients but not SqueezePlay if its on the same PC.
QNAP do this a fair bit. The way they symlink the folders sometimes
changes with a firmware update. After 2 or three of these issues I went
with a similar set up to Grumpy Bob's where I run an uptodate LMS on
something else and point it at the shares on the QNAP.
You can get 7.9 to run on a QNAP
I run a very similar config with LMS on an old server class machine and
storage on a NAS (QNAP) mounted via NFS. Obviously if I boot the PC with
the NAS off then there is an issue but since I know thats going to be
the case I don't do it.
I also use a Pi3 with SMB mount to the NAS. The Pi is

Why don't you just switch off the recycle bin in the NAS control panel
or if you can't do that give the folder permissions that LMS can't

I have reported this as well. I also think it is DNS related not base
networking. I have actually wondered whether one of the LMS name servers
has some obsolete entries as it seems hit and miss to me which would be
consistent with a name server mis reporting the IP
IIRC If you have "bought" the music from iTunes as opposed to streaming
them from Apple Music then you should be able to download m4a versions.
You may have to do it individually album by album though.

I now have 2 of these LMS instances that doesn't always connect to mySB

Both are Pi 3s running piCorePlayer. Both are wired. One will sometimes
connect and grab the menu (3.11) the other (3.0x) steadfastly refuses
every time.

It has pointed to the fact that the instance of piCorePlayer in question

I am confused as to what you are trying to do here.
Firstly LMS will never be able to access via the DynDNS url as that will
be pointing to your external IP.
Why would you want LMS to access files locally (i.e. on the same
internal network) via URL ? I can't see any reason but you must have
Almost certainly to do with Windows 10 elevated privileges.
YOU can see K:\ but the user that the server is running as can't.
You either need to force LMS to run with your credentials or make the
share available to the system.
The first thing to try is a UNC path as that is not user specific

In U.K. the Pi 3 starter kit is £50. It includes everything needed for

Just reflash the SD card with piCorePlayer.
Can you power from NAS? Possibly. It depends on amperage of the output.

the Touch doesn't like or vice versa. I have seen similar with MS

Putty or WinSCP - you need to look at the permissions and ownership of
the MP3
Neither share/Public or share/Multimedia are the real paths they are
both symlinks but that probably isn't the issue
The real paths are something quite obscure like HD0-1/path
to/files/QNAP/Public but that may not matter if you can see what you
expect to see via QNAP file manager
It will be
Remove the ticks from Pictures & Videos
As Ronnie says the Playlist folder should not be in the same path
Normally the music folder would be
share/Multimedia/Music
And the playlists
share/Mumtinedia/Playlists
Pictures & Videos should go in
share/Multimedia/Pictures
Etc
Scanning the whole
You may find that a firmware upgrade has destroyed the symlinks to your
music folder that LMS is set to use.
Go to settings and try re-adding the music share. You may have to click
about a bit to find it.
This annoyance happened to me in one of the QNAP upgrades. I now use a

Your statement that everything works over LAN clearly points to a
bandwidth issue over wi-fi.
As suggested you can try limiting the bitrate which will cause the LMS
server to transcode the FLACs down to whatever level you set but I would
also try a different wi-fi adapter with the Pi Zero and
Agreed. A dedicated wired Linux server (a Pi included) is always going
to be more stable than a Windows box. IMHO you should never try to run a
server wirelessly. I am not saying it won't work but it's asking for
trouble that you don't need.
*Vortexbox LMS 7.9 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS*
You would be FAR better off if you ran the Netbook/LMS on a wired
connection. Wi-fi is inherently not as stable as a wire. The players all
have a buffer and to an extent will do error connection but the server
will assume that it has a constant connection so give it one.
*Vortexbox LMS 7.9
I don't think you'll get LMS onto that NAS in a month if Sunday's.
Don't despair though. Keep your music on the NAS but get a Pi to run LMS
and point it at the NAS.

You have talked about changing wifi channels but not reported the
results of a wired test that I can see.
The symptoms still suggest wifi interference issues.

Sorry Michael :(
I don't think I have ever tried to use those links except in iPeng if

some reason - hence it can't be opened on the second scan - but you
really need Michael Herger to cast his eye over the log file to tell you
what is going on.
Trust me though that running LMS on something different and
