I have a simple document. One embedded (pasted) JPEG, everything else
plain text, standard fonts, some colors. I want to change the margins,
so I go into Format | Page. Tabbed dialog opens. If I click on the Page
tab, OOo crashes.
Opened a blank (new) document. Went into
Because users sometimes accidentally drag and drop text, and then they
lose it. PEBKAC, but one that can be avoided if the feature can be turned
toggled.

Here's an off-beat question. Does anyone know where OOo stores its
settings for the column widths in the OpenOffice Save/Open dialogs?
My column widths were somehow whacked, and OOo now only shows me the
filenames -- not the file types, dates, etc. I can drag them back into
view, but if

Turning off changes sometimes helps, but often once the document starts

Actually, I think this is a bug. OOo does group properly on the taskbar,
but doesn't group properly in the task list (Alt+Tab).

The other major point: OpenOffice is OPEN. It supports open standards
better--MUCH better--than MSFT Office.
Every try to write or edit a blog post in MSFT Office, and then cut and
past it to a blog? The resulting POLLUTED hidden markup text chokes
Feedburner.

Does anyone know if there's a way to access the OOo newsgroups via
Google Groups? The Gmane servers do not appear in any of Google's
listings. I was getting them through Thunderbird, but I'd love to be
able to access them through Google as well.

I'm baffled by this one. Selecting a word and pressing Ctrl+F7 (or
using the menu) calls up the Thesaurus, but it +never+ suggests any
