It's easy to tell if you use bluetooth headphones when dictating, at least the ones I use. When the mic is open, sound quality drops to that of a phone call instead of the usual full quality. Normally, once dictation is over, sounds, including VO speech, return to normal. With this bug, though

Remember, it is all done on remote servers, the device would have to send the entire sound file away to get the text back. I think there is a size limit, whihc interprets as a maximum time limit for recordings. Folks using dictation have often commented that if they keep bits relatively short

First of all, your segments shouldn't have to be very short though there definitely is a limit. I always think very carefully about what I want to say before starting dictation. This doesn't eliminate the need for segments but it does minimize it somewhat. Secondly, it may help to navigate

In iOS 7, this has changed. If the edit field is in editing mode, and the onscreen keyboard is visible, a two-finger double tap will start dictation. If a bluetooth keyboard is connected and the onscreen keyboard is not visible, the two-finger double tap will not activate dictation. David
