And at the 7 PSI operating pressure you'd only need for any relevant density
to protect seating, you'd have large droplets- if not a stream of water :)

Wouldn't you end up just following the flame front a couple minutes after
the fuel was used up if the place DID catch fire?

Maybe a detection system that isn't very prone to false trips activating a
water cannon system isn't such a bad idea. And certainly a good candidate
for a sharp Fpe to do performance based design, in consultation with the
AHJ.

Subject: Re: Help!! Sprinkler in Planetarium

We ere actually looking at how many megawatts were needed for
activation. It appears that the models are excessive conservative on
this issue.

If we wanted to relate excessive clearance over storage with high
ceiling performance (not an unreasonable leap), then the annex (A.
12.1.3.4) confirms that the K-11.2 and larger performs better. For
those of you that have one of the initial printings of 13, this
section has an Errata since it initially said "larger orifice
sprinkler K-5.6 and larger". Since NO ONE considers a 5.6 as being
larger, it was an easy one to catch.
