We're ALL in the risk management business or you don't understand where you
fit in the larger scheme of things in this industry.

Despite regular CPVC certification and re-certification sessions, we
suffered two dry-fit blowouts recently. One had damage to a building ready
for punchlist, the other was on a jobsite and didn't cause any significant
damage. Both put egg on our face and we want to remove it and keep it from
coming back.

If you don't learn from your own mistakes you're a fool. And it is far
better to learn from the mistakes of others!

So I am preparing for a company-wide meeting to review some basics of CPVC
and related water damage prevention steps. And my first stop on the web was
Relmark.

We had Relmark insurance some years back, and perhaps we'll have them again.
We see them support our industry and I felt the need to advise Forum members
of the ready availability to some CRITICAL forms, advisories, and SOPs you
need to be following if you want to increase your chances (or your
employer's chances) of staying in business.

Regardless of whether or not you are insured by Relmark, you should visit
http://www.relmark.net/firesprinkloss.htm
and see what applies to your segment of the industry.

This is not a plug for Relmark in any way, but recognition (and thanks) for
their continued efforts to limit damage in our industry.

It's a chance for you to get free education that could spare you pain,
agony, court proceedings, and cash outflows.

You don't have to, but you risk the "I told you so" and kicking yourself
later. I've had adjusters call up and thank me for making their life easy
when some of the SOPs we do become "priceless" when stuff hits the fan. This
also reduces our insurance costs.

As Russ says in his #25 seminar, it's not IF this stuff happens, it's WHEN
this stuff happens. Be Prepared!
