Jaber, So your assets in descending rank of importance are students, building, equipment both in value and in downtime (takes years and treasure to replace a college student). People tend to visualize all fire as fully engulfed buildings with tens of people cold and weeping in the streets while exhausted fire fighters shake their heads in sorrow and speak in hushed tones around the civilians, as smokeless giant bunsen burners affording long term passage between localized points of flame, or as little trash can events easily extinguished with an extinguisher. Hollywood fires in short. They see sprinklers equally fallaciously as unreliable deluge devices also per Hollywood. I doubt the best gaseous system would be applicable or reliable on three floors of lecture hall, theater space. I think your client visualizes all this equipment, even though in different rooms on different floors as somehow being destroyed in apocalyptic event triggered by a trash can fire, an accident or a simple failure. All the players here need to clearly express their concerns, be educated on likely fire scenarios, be educated on the reality of various systems and scenarios of control/suppression, and then perform a reasonable cost/benefit analysis before deciding sprinklers bad/gases good merely because of they bought some expensive gizmos. Remember from past questions on the Forum that we sprinkler MRI rooms and don't ask if it should be done but how to do it without introducing ferrous materials into the room. And I'll bet one MRI costs way more than all your audio/visual gear combined.
