Ron 'Haji' is an honorific representing Jaber Mohammed's status as a Moslem male who has made the 'Haj', (the pilgrimage to Mecca) - it's kind of optional but most people who use the word in their name appreciate their status being acknowledged. Jaber probably has two or three other names - including bin X (where X is his father's name) and even an 'al Y' (where Y could be a tribal name or the name of the town where he comes from. Its not simple !
Trying getting a Brit to explain to you why some of us use 'Esquire' after our names ! (It always cracks me up to see female lawyers in the US putting 'Esq.' on their business cards.)
