Has anyone ever used a PIV in a hot box in the yard as the control valve for a dry pipe system. It was my understanding that you needed a control valve on the actual riser (this by looking at the diagram at 8.15.1.1). Is there something that says that you can use the PIV as the control. Keep in mind this is using the 2002 13 code.
