I always did wonder why my government doesn't make laws to prevent cyclists from cycling on pedestrian pavements/paths. Well, they did, once. But then, they realized that not everyone cycles at breakneck speeds like me. :) And cycling at crawl speeds on the roadsides can be terribly scary for most folks. So they removed the law.
