All that tonight on BBC1 at 6.30pm. I hope you can join me. Drivers We were talking about drivers last night on the programme. Some new figures just out today show that concerns for personal safety on the Britains roads are so bad that 63% of drivers in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire would not stop to help at an accident if travelling by themselves. 63% of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire drivers would not stop to help. This compares with 53% of all UK drivers. So there you are. Its the highest of all parts of the country. 63% would not stop to help at an accident if they were driving on their own. 65% of men in our part of the world, compared to 28% of women driving by themselves would not stop to help at a road accident. 10% of men would stop and confront a driver who was threatening them on the road. Thats more than double, who would call a friend or family member. 12% of men compared to 0.5% of women would not stop to pick up a hitch hiker. 70% of women said they would keep their doors locked and windows rolled up if driving by themselves, comp! ared to 30% of men. So there you are. So thats a new survey out on the subject of personal safety and driving on the regions roads in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. If you want to write to me then, its [EMAIL PROTECTED] Nursery Children, who are sent to nursery school, are naughtier than those who are looked after at home by their mothers, but are also much brighter, according to a new study out today. The research shows that toddlers, who spent a lot of time away from their parent, were more disobedient, defiant, aggressive and disruptive and the earlier they went into nursery then the worse their behaviour was. However, the children also did better and were more confident when they started at school. Thats a new survey out on the subject of sending children to nursery. Also on the subject of children - children do better at school if their mothers wait until their mid to late twenties before starting their families, according to new research. The study of 165 children born, also has found that children, who do worst at school are, not as previously thought those born to teenage mothers, but those whose mothers started their families between the ages of twenty to twenty-three. I know youll think its a load of rubbish, but those are two studies, which are just out. What do you make to those then? Angling A million pounds is going to be spent advertising angling to try and make it less white and middle aged. Women and ethnic minorities are being targeted in this campaign to try and persuade them to take up fishing. Well, this is just the most barking thing Ive ever heard. Britains most popular participation sport is dominated by white middle aged men. This is according to the Government anyway. Research by the Environment Agency, which looks after the countrys waterways, found that only 7% of the countrys four million anglers are under the age of eighteen. And only 5% are women and very few come from ethnic minorities. Did we really need this survey to tell us that such a small percentage of fishermen would be women and that so few of them would be under the age of eighteen? Anyway, now a billion pounds is going to be spent to convince women and those under the age of eighteen to take up fishing. Im sure youll have a view on that one as well! Noel Edmonds Since I mentioned it yesterday, loads of you have written in to make a comment on Deal Or No Deal and also about Noel Edmonds interview the other night on the television. Well, apparently, the thing I was trying to remember that he was talking about was called Cosmic Ordering Service. This is something that hes heavily into at the moment and it claims to help people realise their dreams by directing them to submit a wish list of six ambitions to the cosmos. Apparently, Noel Edmonds has done this and four out of the six wishes has come true so far. So if you want something to happen, maybe to win the lottery, then put it on your wish list from the Cosmic Ordering Service and then itll come true. There you go. Completely potty, but nevertheless theres plenty of coverage of that in the papers still. Theres one thing you cant get away from is that his programme is hugely popular though.
