Hello, it's Peter here and welcome to Thursdays Levy Letter. I hope your day is good and I hope youll be able to join me tonight on BBC1 at 6.30pm. Ill have all the days news and Lisa will have the weekend forecast. Lets hope itll be a good one for the Easter weekend!
And also tonight, Ill be looking at trying to help an eighty-six year old woman, whos been landed with an electricity bill for £700 in just seven weeks! Can you believe that? Well, Ill be looking into that tonight. Plus, the Lincolnshire Police have come to us for help in trying to promote awareness of badger baiting in our region. They suspect there are gangs in our area targeting these creatures in our countryside. Ill be looking at this in detail. My special guest tonight is a local lad from Hull. He starred in the cult comedy series, The League Of Gentlemen and has now turned his hand to something completely different. Hes landed a role in the hit West End show, The Producers. Its a fabulous show, I really recommend you go and see it and Im sure Reece will be great in it. So, best of luck to him for that. A new survey is out today can you believe this? that says caravans are no longer holding us up on country lanes, but in fact are breaking the speed limit and even driving on the fast lane on the motorways! Well, Im not sure about that one. Im sure many of you this weekend will be stuck behind caravans on tiny country lanes. Well, Ill be talking to the Caravan Club on that one and looking at activities you might like to do over your Easter weekend. I hope you can join me tonight on BBC1. Emails Thanks for all the emails on a variety of subjects. Its been a very busy week. Thank you for all of those. And of course, this week is a short week. Therell be no Levy Letter tomorrow on Good Friday and no Letter on Monday. So Ill be back with you on Tuesday. If over the weekend you meet someone, whos not signed up for a Levy Letter, and of course it could be whether theyre in the region or living outside it, then if theyd like one, then you know what to do. Carry out some publicity for us and point them in the direction of either one of the two addresses at the bottom of the page. Get them to sign up and theyll receive their first Levy Letter on Tuesday after the Easter weekend. And just a reminder that if youre a reader of the Levy Letter, then you can get your exclusive Peter Levy pen. All youve got to do is to drop me a line with a stamped addressed envelope to the usual address of Peter Levy, BBC Look North, Queen's Court, Queen's Gardens, Hull, HU1 3RH. Theres a note here from Allan Rowlands. We were talking yesterday about sleep deprivation. Allan writes and I have to say that hes saying exactly what Jim Horne, whos the Director of the Sleep Centre, has said in a new report. He says, Ive been a nurse for much of my working life and as such have spent very many shifts on night duty. So it has always intrigued me as to how many of my patients have told me that they have not slept well as I and my colleagues have observed them sleeping soundly as weve done our rounds throughout the night. Its hard to believe. Im one of those people, who manage perfectly well with just five or six hours sleep a night and I think this has been a pattern for as far back as my childhood. Every now and then I find that I have an extra doze for around half an hour, then Im fine again. So perhaps its worth thinking about whether you really need as much sleep as you think or are you sleeping more than you realise. Thats from Allan, so tha! nk you very much indeed for that one. And thats on the subject of sleep or lack of sleep! Pictures If you are a new owner of a digital camera, or if you are taking pictures at the moment and you have a trip out at the weekend and you get a nice view, then dont forget to let me have that view for our Big Screen to show one night in the next couple of weeks. Either send me an electronic copy via email or a hard copy in the post. The address to send it to is the same one as I mentioned earlier, but do make sure, if you want your picture returning, to include your name and address on the back of the picture. Once youve sent it in, then look out for your picture on the screen. If youve taken a picture and its a good picture, then let me have it over the next couple of days. Paul Yes, Paul has been on holiday this week. Hes at home doing a few DIY jobs I do believe and of course tending to his allotment as publicised on the programme. Paul will be back on Tuesday and of course, if you ever want to email Paul direct then you can do so at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cosmic Ordering Thank you for all the emails on the Noel Edmonds story about Cosmic Ordering. Several people have been asking me to write more about it. Well, I dont know much about it. All I know is that there is a book out at the moment all about it. The book is by a German lady and there are advance orders of ten thousand! The book is not even on sale yet in this country, but its called The Guide to Cosmic Ordering. This is the scheme that Noel Edmonds has tried and seeing as hes landed up with a house in France, and a hit TV series and more big money contracts, then it doesnt look like a bad thing to try! All youve got to do is sit down, decide what you want, think about it and next thing is it just happens and just falls in your lap. Thats Cosmic Ordering. Well, Ill do some investigation into this over the weekend and will give you some more details next week in the Levy Letter. Well, thats it from me for today. Enjoy your Easter and have a great time and a great rest from work. Join me tonight on BBC1 at 6.30pm for tonights Look North. And drop me a line when you get a spare moment with any of your thoughts about the stories were covering or simply if you want to let me know what youre up to. Take care and Happy Easter!
