Also on the programme tonight, its your chance to ask Rosie Winterton, the Health Minister, your questions about the lack of NHS dentists in our area. This week Ive been asking for you to send in your questions for her and Ive been inundated with them. The situation with NHS dentists is particularly bad in Lincolnshire where more than one hundred thousand patients cannot get NHS dental care. Watch tonights Look North to see what she says in response to your questions. And theyre about to play the biggest SuperLeague game of the season, but Hull FC have no permanent coach after John Kears departure this week. Their first choice, Steve McNamara, has turned the Black and Whites down. Well be live at the KC Stadium ahead of the Leeds game to find out what their fans think about that. Its a subject that youve been emailing me a lot about, and Ill have the latest for you on the possible development of the Top Deck in the Princes Quay shopping centre in Hull and the proposed plans for it to become a cinema. Theres a poster here sent in to me from Gwen OReilly about an event thats happening tonight at the Holy Cross Church on Carrington Avenue in Cottingham. Theyre twinned with the Parish of Our Lady Star of the Sea in Freetown, Sierra Leone and they are holding an auction of promises tonight to raise money for them. She says, Since May 2005, we have been concentrating our efforts on raising money to provide a generator, which will supply electricity for the church, school and clinic. Electricity is supplied erratically at present, following the civil war, which lasted ten years, and much of the equipment for the clinic and school cannot be used because of this. Theyve raised £4000 so far for the generator so congratulations to them and I hope they raise a lot more tonight at the auction of promises. Among the prizes up for grabs is a George Best match programme from 1988 and theres also the chance to come on a tour around the BBC studios in Hull. Two people will be able! to come around and look at the studio where Look North is filmed and then sit in the gallery and watch the programme go out live! So if you want to go along to the Holy Cross Church in Cottingham tonight at 7.30pm, then the entrance fee is £1 and all the money raised is going to a very worthy cause! Good luck to Gwen with that! Pampering If you are female, then you might have your nails done, buy moisturisers, perfumes, make regular appointments at the hairdressers in a life time £182,000 is how much you spend pampering yourself. Beauty by numbers - £182,523 spent on pampering! Thats an incredible figure isnt it? Contact Lenses As a contact lens wearer myself, I was interested in the headlines saying that contact lens users are being ripped of for £150 million pounds a year. It says that consumer watchdogs claim that disposable lenses marketed as usable for up to a month are virtually identical to those sold as single day use. In the longer life version, it costs about 500% more. Investigators from Which say that the one day lenses can be reused given the correct disinfecting and care, saving the wearer up to £193 a year. Which asked a lens manufacturer and an optician, each with thirty years experience, to compare the two types of lens from four separate companies and found they were made of similar or identical materials all of them a mix of flexible plastic and water. I think anyone, who wears lenses, like myself, would be very jumpy at doing anything other than what youre being told to do, because youre always very worried about getting an eye infection or doing some harm to our eyes.
