It's not just Leopard. I'm in 10.4, and when I have to trash preferences (about twice a week, it seems!) the next time I launch Finale the first thing I do is make my palette into a long thin line. This crashes Finale instantly. If I quit and restart, then I can reshape my palette. Christ
