Hai Jithin/Group, I second him for what he said... Yodha is one of the Classic Soundtracks ever created in Malayalam - in the sense - malayalam film music started to be viewed in a different manner. AGAIN!!! Rahman ji was the one to do it... The songs and the movie was not at all underrated as both were blockbusters. The only thing is its tamil and hindi versions were vulgarised in the best possible way by directors who didnt know what soul and story the orignal movie was trying to impart. It was after the release of Yodha that people heard a completely different style of music making, with extraordinary beats, blends, fusions which was hitherto unheard or untried at all... It virtually gave a breath of fresh air to Malayalam Filmdom and YODHA's music is still reigned as a Classic Score. If someone is a Keralite, then he is a fan of Yodha Songs. After this Rahman-ji couldnt continue with his inventions Vidyasagar came and took over malayam in one of the grandest forms ever done by a MD [sorry, but truths should be accepted and respected, as i respect both of them in the rightfull manner]. So this is the pre and post of YODHA Soundtrack. One more interesting thing:- Shyama Sundara Track (by AR Rahman) for Asianet is still considered to be one of the Classic Theme Track ever created in Malayalam TV. Jai, As you said there are much more Experts here, but from a very personal experience i would like to suggest smtg. I am a long time user of headphones. Sony was my forte once (ofcourse can never say Sony is bad) but recently for a change and a craving for smtg much more crispier (after taking sme reviews) i went for Sennheiser (mine is MX 550). But i would say - putting Sinnheiser on everytime, i am on a diff plane of musical experience (can only attribute to Rahman Songs, very very Crsip beats) WOW i am in love with my Sinnheiser completely. We've completely lost touch with him after the tour and I've been struggling to find what Rahman thinks of my remixes and videos. Are these remixes more popular than your own numbers? I have gained fame much before I sang to the tunes of Rahman. I have been performing since the age of 10 and have sung over 50 original singles. In my country, I've become famous for my original performances of our traditional folk music. I've earned a dozen of national awards like Nihol from the President of Uzbekistan and have taken part in international festivals in Korea, Germany , China, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyz Republic. Yet, I must add that this musical exchange with Rahman added to my deep appreciation for Indian music and culture. What about sharing the royalty with Rahman? I have not released the videos on sale and have done no business transactions with them. How popular is Hindi songs and movies in your country? Oh! they are extremely popular. I love Hindi films. As for the singers, I like Richa Sharma, Sadhana Sargam and KK. Any plans of releasing these remix videos for Indian channels? I'd love to do that. I'm keen on performing live in India. Everyone who knew about it wondered out loud whether it was worth paying all that money just to see some Americans perform ARR's songs. But I kept telling myself that all that mattered was the fact that ARR himself was going to be there performing. It is usual for original singers to perform his songs. If anyone is to visit the message board on miindia.com, you will probably come across a lot of messages saying it was not worth their money and what not. And obviously I do not agree with it. After we got there, we didn't wait around too much. We just showed our tickets and got in. When we entered the stadium, it was a bit intimidating 'cos it was still sinking that I was really there. We were shown to our seats in the 4th row. Oh, just before the concert, there was a reception where one could get to meet everyone including ARR, but that was 150 dollars per person. Skipped that. The stadium was yet to be filled in with people. I was just taking in the details of the stage in front of us. I could see the KORG keyboards that was a sign where Rahman was going to be. And I could not be happier. He was going to be right in front of me. Time passed and the stadium was filled up with a lot of people. I truly was not expecting that many people, considering Ypsilanti is a small city and all. Anyhow, finally it was time for the show to begin. The Global Rhythm group entered and took their positions. The singers were distributed in 3 groups (comprising of atleast 25 people each). Then there were the string instrument players, the keyboard players and the percussionists. The President of EMU made an opening speech, praising this effort and ARR. And then we were told that the music was directed by ARR, and was going to be conducted by Ethan Sperry. After that one white girl came up and started, " Sari madushaala pi aaya...". I could not believe what I was hearing. My instant reaction was 'What in the world?!' And what followed after shut me up for the rest of the concert. The way these people performed ' Ramta jogi' was mindblowing. The energy levels were skyrocketing. My eyes were welled up by the time they ended the song. And I remember thinking, 'Tears already? This is just the beginning!'. I managed to get my act together by the time, Ethan asked us to welcome The Man himself. At this moment, walked along a man who is admired, adored and loved by millions. He showed up clad in white cotton clothes. And he got the loudest cheers and a standing ovation. ARR took the mike and said (paraphrasing) " Can you believe what is happening on the stage?" A cheer followed. "Neither can I". It must be mentioned that there were some groups in the audience who were really loud. I mean I totally understand that everyone was excited to see him on the stage and everything, but there is something called a decent behaviour. It was to the extent that someone pointed it out to ARR and he had to say (paraphrasing) " Please listen to the singers while they are performing and shower your appreciation and love after the act was done". I felt ashamed. But I think it silenced people to a certain extent. I am roughly going to talk about the songs performed in (almost) orderly fashion and my own opinion of the performance: Khalbali: Performed by ARR. Brilliant. Very well sung. I think it was Karaoke. Yaaro Yarodi : Performed by Vasundhara Das. The chorus was a few Indian girls from the GR (Global Rhythm). The music was also performed by GR. Veerapaandi Kottayilae: Performed by GR. It

Dear All / .. Sirish, I have a Highly SPECIAL REQUEST to make friends: Can any one of you kindly give me the INSTRUMENTALS of ARRahman like Roja, GEntleman and any other ones u can lay ur hands on. I have all the latest instrumental which comes along with a film, but not the ones which have been converted from film music. This is actually for my BOSS, who inspite of being a Syrian, was and is a die-hard fan of ARRahman, but didnt know who he was. I recently (exactly 3 days back) came to know that he was a die-hard and for the past 10 years was contineously hearing Bombay Theme, which he said always soothed his soul, and i said Rahmanwas our own and he was taken aback and virtually pleaded to give more of the music, mostly Instrumentals as he told he wont be understanding hindi ot tamil. I am now compiling it for him. I was overwhelmed by his act, the way he has placed AR Rahman in his mind, even though not knowing him and only one song wiht him. PLEASE HELP. Rightly said SahilU know there are some people out here and about, who proclaim themselves as hard core AR Rahman fans but in reality they have not till now understood the basics of being a good fan or understand the deapthness and beauty of each song. Criticism is cool, needed and good as long as very good constructive critisism (some posts critising some songs are very very good and intelligently put forward, the one who posts that, clearly desrves some appreciation). We asunderstandable fans would also like to go thru it and read it with all our heart. It will even help Mr. Rano, Mr Vijay Iyer etc to put forward to AR Rahman who indeed will be more than happy to recieve it from us with all his heart and with a humble smile. Some of the baseless criticisms that surely come in this group even before 24 hours of a music release is only meant to make us fans fight and give up concentration on the music's divinity (which they also know is divine)and conc. on the foolish post by an idiot. The best things we as fans with brains can do is to ignore those morons who dosent know what GOOD MUSIC is and continue with our appreciation and warm welcome to Good Critisisms posted by various of our highly respectable members. Also we should make a point not not not to reply to these ()*(*(!#$%! messages. Sahil, some people cant takein good music...they want all peppy and funny, even if the father of the heroine is on the death bed, they want a song like Mukkala or Chayya and particularly where, the already dead father should dance to the tunes...even if its a period film they want a songs like " enikkoru girlfriend veenamada" or a " Boom Boom " from BOYS considering the fact that the films hero and heroine in the period movie is either ontop of a horse or carrying a sword. Dear ARR Gangs, Sooraj and Swapna, Do any of the group knows about Karen David's AR Rahman album "Carry Me Home"? Has it been released - recently i have heard a music in the album - The English Version of " Chole Ke Peeche Kya Hai" and it was beautifully and wonderfully done and i have gone completely crazy. Has this been released? Dear Sooraj Swapna, Thanking you very much for the O Bosniasong. I am not able to believe that i am indeed hearing these Rare AR Rahman songs even after hearing them. These were songs that has distroyed my sleep for several days thinking whether i will get it one day or not. Even though it is similar to "Iswar Ya Allah"from Pukar, all ARR songs, how similar it is, is a feat to our senses. Also have you heard the "Zindagi Se Pyaar Karo" song done in an AIDS Concert by ARR. If so will you be kind enough to load for us.
