Gary,

Regarding your post below: Why must agreeing with someone, like
Rush, mean we are sheep that don't think for ourselves? In a post
you said you agree with the writings of Edward Bellamy. Does
agreeing with him make you a sheep who can't think for himself?

The entire idea of ³Dittoheads² show how ridiculous that culture

Would you rather admit to being a sheep blindly agreeing with

Thanks for the correction, Frank!

Now let's see if I can get this right:

Hurricane Andrew: George H.W. Bush's fault.
Hurricane Katrina: George W. Bush's fault.
Hurricane = Bush genocide.

Yup. Another clear case of Bush Derangement Syndrome. Your
hatred of the Bush family has retarded your ability to think clearly.

Fortunately I'm qualified to give you a perscription to fight that.

Has anyone corrected you yet on this, BB? Hurricane Andrew
occured under the glorious reign of King Geo. Bush I. He had a
political hack in charge of FEMA, and as a result proceeded to
make a
horrible situation worse. Bush, Sr.'s aloofness during that
hurricane's devastation has been considered to be one of the
factors
in his inability to win a 2nd term. President Clinton put a non-
partisan professional in charge of FEMA. His name was James Lee
Witt. For eight years FEMA ran like a well-oiled machine, until
Sonny Boy, that n'er do well spoiled frat boy, put another hack in
charge of FEMA and then folded FEMA into the department of
homeland
security, which he in turn put in the hands of a LAWYER! So it is
indee very generous of you not to blame Clinton for Hurricane
Andrew. At least the people in New Orleans know the truth. Many
are
referring to their city as Lake George in honor of the guy who
couldn't possibly have imagined that the levees could be breached
despite books, numerous articles, and programs predicting just
that
 scenerio.
If Bush's failures in this area do not amount to active
genocide, they seem to me to be a case of passive genocide by
 neglect.
And please don't waste your prayers on me. If I'm headed

Not living there now, the Governor is in Baton Rouge, the State
Capitol. I wouldn't expect her to be in New Orleans or any outlying
Parish during the height of the storm. Remember, the storm by-passed
New Orleans. It was the levee that burst, that inundated the City,
the
day AFTER the storm. The Mayor has a storm headquarters WITHIN the
city
but can't control a levee break, especially when the feds told him to

[AsburyPark] Re: Who to blame

2005-09-03 Thread sandy
First of all, and i heard this on TV and not sure if it is true, the
resident were not told to evacuate in a timely manner. If all the
residents had the ways and means to leave, the infrastructure would
not have been able to handle it. It would have been one big parking
lot.
Knowing it is the end of the month and also that most residents live
paycheck to paycheck, You don't just tell them to evacuate, you have
to aid them in the evacuation. Supply transportation to get the
residents out.Transport them to a safe area to ride out the storm.
They had concerns about the roof of the Superdome before they
seltered the residents there.
Coming across the Gulf the hurricane was a catagory 5. The officials
knew the levees were built to withstand a catagory 3. So they were
aware that the levees could be compromised and unfortunately and
sadly they were.
After that sonny boy vacationed in Crawford and went to a party in
Ca. without giving any thought to the victims in the Gulf states.
Just a side note. Al Sharpton just took the press to task,as you
have been doing, told them to stop calling the survivors refugees.
I'm not to crazy about the guy all the time but at least he is never
afraid to set anyone straight. I'm now glad that Kanye was cut off
on the show last night. Because they did it has been all over the
press net.Now everyone knows what he said not just the ones
viewing the show.MSNBC,NBC etc. should be ashamed of themselves for
cutting he off but now I say thank you. :~)

Rev,
I appreciate you sentiment, but one can still talk while operating
a shovel, and thank the Lord for that!

In my quite long winded post, I made documentation available that
clearly displays the power brokers who have the president's ear have
been zealously advocateding invasion of Iraq and throwing intense
financial focus towards that effort for a decade before 9/11/2001.

It's jingoist sentimment, similar to Until then pick up a tool

instead of tearing down. that heloed contribute to Jefferson Parish
being denied funds that WOULD HAVE SAVED LIVES. In fact, there is
nothing more American than speaking one's mind.

-Now you know i never blamed sonny boy for the hurricane.
I blame him for his lack of action prior to and immediately after
the hurricane passing through the area.
Yesterday he told us we should conserve fuel. So what does he do.
Takes a jet and a motorcade for some sight seeing and photo ops. He
should practice what he preaches. No politician needs to sightsee an
area in order to send help relief. He should stay in Crawford,
where he seems to do the least amount of harm.

If that's the case then you aren't being very fair to him. As far as
giving notice to the people, I live in New Jersey and I followed this
storm everyday on the news way back when it was still a tropical
depression without a name. There was about a week to 10 days notice
of this storm to the people in the South. Then for days people were
told to evacuate. Then evacuations plans were put into effect and
hundreds of thousands of people did go. You can't blame the President
for the ones who stayed behind.

Response after the storm was as good as it gets. You aren't going to
put FEMA or Red Cross workers there before hand and make them victims
of the storm too. They have to come in after and that is exactly what
they did, and have been doing since the moment the storm passed over.

Of the 43 Presidents this country has had, do you think any one of them
had resources (both human and monetary) at the ready to ensure that no
one got hurt in a category 4-5 hurricaine in the Gulf Coast? Surely
you don't.

Playing politics with the deaths of thousands of Americans would make
me feel pretty awful. You should reflect on what you are saying. You
know there is nothing any President could have done differently.

The title of this thread is reflective of the victimology identity that
holds someone is always responsible for another's misfortune.

Please then identify for me the equipment and humans the President
is supposed to have at the ready to evacuate hundreds of thousands
of people, spread across three states, who stayed behind to ride out
a cat 4-5 hurricaine, which by the way put left 20 feet of water
over 80% of a city. Is there some compound somewhere where a million
guys are sitting around waiting with a billion dollars in rescue
equipment? Is there any admistration in history who could have
involuntarily moved all those poeple out who stayed? You just aren't
considering the size of the task at hand. No government anywhere
could do anything about this other than what you see being done
right now. Your Bush bashing is really coming at a bad time here.
Instead of complaining why not jump in with the team for once?

[AsburyPark] Re: Who to blame

2005-09-02 Thread sandy
What is finally rolling into the disaster area now should have been
ready to roll in there on Tues. Wed. the lastest.

By the way, I've been a team member for 20 years.

over 80% of a city. Is there some compound somewhere where a
million
guys are sitting around waiting with a billion dollars in rescue

involuntarily moved all those poeple out who stayed? You just
aren't

If that's the case then you aren't being very fair to him. As
 far
  as
giving notice to the people, I live in New Jersey and I
followed
  this
storm everyday on the news way back when it was still
 a tropical
depression without a name. There was about a week to 10 days
  notice
of this storm to the people in the South. Then for days
people
  were
told to evacuate. Then evacuations plans were put into effect
 and
hundreds of thousands of people did go. You can't blame the
  President
for the ones who stayed behind.

Response after the storm was as good as it gets. You aren't
 going
  to
put FEMA or Red Cross workers there before hand and make them
  victims
of the storm too. They have to come in after and that is
 exactly
  what
they did, and have been doing since the moment the storm
passed
  over.

Of the 43 Presidents this country has had, do you think any
one
 of
  them
had resources (both human and monetary) at the ready to ensure
  that no
one got hurt in a category 4-5 hurricaine in the Gulf Coast?
  Surely
   you don't.

Playing politics with the deaths of thousands of Americans
would
  make
me feel pretty awful. You should reflect on what you are
 saying.
  You
know there is nothing any President could have done
differently.

The title of this thread is reflective of the victimology

George H.W. Bush was leading a UN coalition that operated under an
agreement that said nothing more than get Iraq out of Kuwait. Once
he did, it was over. He had no coalition or UN agreement to conquor
Saddam. However, he went into Iraq anyway, and all the liberals went
ballistic and said he was exceeding his UN authority. They called
him all kinds of names like imperialist, etc. So as not to be over-
thrown, Saddam gave up and signed on to WMD inspections.

Now flash forward to 2002. Saddam violated 18 resoultions of the UN
for not letting the WMD inspections take place. Under President
Clinton, congress voted for the use of force to oust Saddam and
appropriated money to do it. Bush implements the Clinton plan, and

BB...

I admire your stamina for arguing with someone who most likely
believes Bush did nothing for 7 minutes while America was being
attacked 4 years ago.

By the way...Why is it, when the US was attacked by Japan in 1941, our
first reaction was to attack Libya? That doesn't make sense, does it?
Everyone KNOWS the Libyans had nothing to do with bombing Pearl
Harbor. We should have focused all of our efforts on defeating Japan,
proclaiming victory, and bringing the boys home from the Pacific.

Dittohead! Thank you Mario! By the way you do know satire and
sarcasm when you read it, don't you? How many times do I have to
read that my thinking is akin to McCarthyism before I have a little
fun and claim that I am like him?

Joe may have gone too far, but on a serious note, his original
intentions were good. There were Commies here, Commies were un-
American and would have doomed us all if we didn't stop them.

As you have asked of others in the past, I ask you to re-read my
post. You alluded to McCarthy, and I commented on him.

I know satire very well, and it requires a bit more finesse to be
effective.

BTW: "Dittohead" is a term of endearment among Rushians. If you
read it carefully, you'll see that I finessed the sentence with "Only" to avoid
a direct hit, in case you were simply being sarcastic.

To say that "Joe may have gone too far" is a terrific use of
understatement.

Actually I'll be the first to admit that so called communism as you
describe the Russians and stuff is far from the original idea of communism
as I perceive it. And I'll admit to being a Bellamist. That is, I think
the writing of Edward Bellamy would lead to a better society or even a
Utopian society. And I'm well aware that some of the aspects are based on
communism. They just don't deal with the guns or military aspects of
communism that have dominated places like Russia, Cuba or China.
Personally, I think they have butchered the idea of communism in the same
way the Taliban has butchered the idea of Muslim religion; however, the
president always points out that not all Muslims believe that way. Somehow
people think all communists think the same way -the Russian way. I'd like
to believe that the communes of the '60s were a more representative manner
of communism.

For those of you that are very religious, I ask you what is more God-like?
The idea of everyone helping one another and sharing resources together or
capitalism where everyone is out for themselves? Communism was most likely
here first before humans got greedy.

BTW: Dittohead is a term of endearment among Rushians. If you read it carefully, you'll see that I finessed the sentence with Only to avoid a direct hit, in case you were simply being sarcastic.

The entire idea of Dittoheads show how ridiculous that culture really is. Would you rather admit to being a sheep blindly agreeing with everything someone says or prefer to have your own thoughts? Dittoheads think Rush only tells the truth when a zillion facts will show otherwise.

Sure Sandy. You can say it's all the President's fault. I, of
course,
refuse to blame President Clinton for Hurricane Andrew.

Has anyone corrected you yet on this, BB? Hurricane Andrew
occured under the glorious reign of King Geo. Bush I. He had a
political hack in charge of FEMA, and as a result proceeded to make a
horrible situation worse. Bush, Sr.'s aloofness during that
hurricane's devastation has been considered to be one of the factors
in his inability to win a 2nd term. President Clinton put a non-
partisan professional in charge of FEMA. His name was James Lee
Witt. For eight years FEMA ran like a well-oiled machine, until
Sonny Boy, that n'er do well spoiled frat boy, put another hack in
charge of FEMA and then folded FEMA into the department of homeland
security, which he in turn put in the hands of a LAWYER! So it is
indee very generous of you not to blame Clinton for Hurricane
Andrew. At least the people in New Orleans know the truth. Many are
referring to their city as Lake George in honor of the guy who
couldn't possibly have imagined that the levees could be breached
despite books, numerous articles, and programs predicting just that
scenerio.
If Bush's failures in this area do not amount to active
genocide, they seem to me to be a case of passive genocide by
neglect.
And please don't waste your prayers on me. If I'm headed for
the infernal regions, I'll be sure to say hello to George, Dick,
Karl, Condi (I hope the shoes she bought in Ferragamos in NYC
YESTERDAY are asbestos lined), and the rest of that gang for you.

Isn't that what we have now? If you don't agree with everything
 this
president says or does you have been deemed un-american.

I pay close attention to conservative publications and blogs. I
don't see anyone on our side calling your side un-American. I
constantly see your side accusing us of calling you un-American.
Very curious behavior on your part. Maybe it's some sort of guilty
 feeling for your postions?

Read closely into that last line. Kinda sounds like what people would have
said in Germany back in the day, doesn't it?

If we don't blindly follow this president I guess we must be wrong and
somehow feel guilty about it.

Not.
