Need help on how to improve the Workflow Service on my group PR/SVR Workflow Processing. Currently we have 169 user (appx) AX 2009 SP1 is there any way the processing time can be improved Please help. Gideon.

Hi all, I am getting workflow stopped error exactly after the due date and time is completed, if the workflow is not approved by due date. Did you ever notice this error before in your implementations? This is happening only when Escalations is setup. The error message is - The iterator does not designate a valid element. Hi What type of escalation assignment are you using in your configuration? Heirarchy, role or user based? If you making use of a heirarchy based assignment, ensure that you're heirarchy provider will resolve based on the current user. Hi shipra, Asof now you cannot run a single Woekflow website for multiple AOS with different applications . The Workflow website will only consider the first AOS instance and its application. Hi Amit. Try opening up your url in a browser and see what results you get. You have most probably: either not installed the workflow website correctly (maybe as a sub directory) or you have the URL wrong as you are getting a plain HTML response back. Essentially you need to install a hot fix to AX, then make a copy of the workflow website per AOS and modify their config files to point to the correct Business Connector configuration. Hi all, When I uninstall and install again the Workflow service in my Windows 2008 Server, And define the Workflow Aplication Pool on IIS to 32bit-enabled and restart it, When i going to the Workflow Wizard in the administration module and click to validate the URL, the same error was shown: The request failed with HTTP status 405: Method Not Allowed. Hi All, When I submmit a workflow document, by the client machine, The Actions button enables the option to show the Workflow history. Hi Edvandro, I got a solution for this. As you are using win2008 server , it is bit tricky in IIS settings. I tried for longtime and i got it. Now goto IIS --Application pool of WF-- rightclick advanced settings and change 32 bit to TRUE. Hi Team, I am facing an error while executing workflow as below. I have installed sharepoint and created a new website with port orther than 80, in which Enterprise portal is deoployed . it is working fine. Default website with port 80 service is stopped and I have created another website with port 80, and installed workflow pointing to this site. Now by creating a workflow configurations for purchase requisition when i submit the order for approval, iam getting the below error in the event viewer. Exception thrown in SysWorkflowEventDispatcher-onAcknowledgeWorkflowActivation SysWorkflowEventDispatcher-raiseWorkflowActivationEvent: Web service failed: workflow id 3 Server was unable to process request. --- Access is denied If any one has experience this kind of error, please let me know what could be done to get rid of this. What i observed is, if i install only workflow without enterprise portal , workflow works fine, but combination of enterprise portal and workflow is not working. Also I cleared all the data from the tables which are referred by that form. When this is done, everything is going fine. Then we raise a request from Purchase Requisition form and submit the same . Hi Bhaskar, Can you see the WorkflowActionBar with the Submit button in EP? To start off troubleshooting, 2 things to check: 1. Check your business connector proxy account setup in AX (system service accounts form in Admin module of AX). This should be set on the identity of the application pool running your workflow website. 2. Make sure the user running workflow is a part of Workflow execution account and Workflow system account user groups in AX 2009. These are new standard groups in AX 2009. Hi Craig, Try these steps: 1) Make sure the .NET Business Connector is connected to the correct AOS server or not. (Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Configuration: On the tob change Configuration Traget to: Business Connector (non-interactive use only) on Connection tab make sure it is pointing to the correct AOS) 2) If you shutdown the AOS then you may need to restart the IIS to refresh the connection. To restart it: i) Start -- Run ii) Type IISRESET iii) Click on OK button 3) If you have more than one Workflow websites setup for several environments on the same system then stop the ones other then the one to be tested 4) Compare the Identity of the Application Pool used by the Workflow website with the Business Connector proxy setup in the system (System service accounts form). If business connector proxy user id is not configured properly with Applicatoin pool the .NET Business Connector will NOT connect to the AOS. Let me know in case this resolves your issue. Hi Hema, In a purchase requisition workflow, once it reaches the stage 'Approved' it cannot be edited. The logic behind the PR workflow is submitted, completed in all respect and then submitted for approval, it means this will be the final thing as finalised by the subordinate so if superior thinks a change is required he can take 'request change' action. But if he approves it, it becomes final for creation of order. Hence an approved PR can not be edited and set for reapproval however you can edit it on purchase order line but then approval step is not there. I installed and configured workflow on Ax2009. I have multiple instances on AOS. If I execute Workflow on default instance its running fine but if I execute it on other instances i get error ClrObject static method invocation error.Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Hi, Please check if workflow has been installed in other user`s machine to whom you have sent the request. I tried executing the WF without tutorial form and it worked.So it is not mandatory to run the form. If you have configured Administration - SetUp-WorkflowInfrastructure Configuration Wizard properly , WF process will happen without any interruption. You should define a valid workflow runtime URL in the above form. Then click Validate. Check the below steps. c.1) Give a valid Workflow Runtime URL. If your Workflow server is using SSL ,then the URL is https://ServerName:PortNumber/MicrosoftDynamicsAX50. If your Workflow Server is not using SSL , the the URL is http://ServerName:PortNumber/MicrosoftDynamicsAX50. Click “Validate” to check the URL. If the URL is valid, then you can see the following infolog. Hi there, First your need to configure Workflow Insfrastructure using a wizard in Administration Setup Workflow Insfrastructure Workflow Configuration Wizard. Make sure that your batch task Workflow Message Processing is in executing status. you can check the status from Basic Inquiry Batch Job. you will not be prompt to submit or approve the workflow unless this batch task is not executing. secondly, check the rights of the user to whom u have assigned the workflow approval that he has the rights to approve it. i hope, you will get it done. Were you running the workflow processing job? If not, look for the tutoral for workflow processing. That process must be running for the submitted workflow to be forwarded to the appropriate person for approval. Also, you may want to examine the heirarchy of positions in HR. This is how workflow forwards for approval - it looks for the person that the requisitioner reports to. During the installation, there is a prompt for credentials for the Business Connector Proxy Account. There is something wrong with those credentials. The account must be an Active Directory account. It must be possible to connect to AX using that account from the machine where you are installing the workflow components. I hope this helps. Workflow is not intended to increase the productivity of the AX software system, but rather the productivity of the organization that REQUIRES approvals for some processes. AX can now handle the approval process. For example, without workflow in the software, the purchase requisition process would need to be done outside of the software and only after the paper trail gets all approvals does a purchase order get entered into AX. Now purchase requisitions can be entered by people and AX alerts the approvers. It is more efficient for the organization. A similar example would be submission of expense reports which need to go through an approval process. Now that is part of the AX 2009 software.
