Re: [hugin-ptx] Re: Product Vision (was:An idea to expand HDR)

2011-01-02 Thread john doe
I was thinking how about making a window at the beginning that asks the
user if he wants to run Hugin as a normal panorama stitcher or in HDR mode??

Then you show the fast preview window mode with a black background, on the
right there would be a control panel with the 123 load, align and stitch
tabs, huge text with it

On top of the fast preview mode tab you could place some other tabs, on the
extreme right there would be hide/show buttons to show the rest of the
options

In the fast prevew window mode you could also include Drag and Drop directly
to it asides from the load images tab, include in the control panel to the
right a picture preview mode and in the fast preview window mode you have
the usual projections to choose from, after you hit align and stitch then
the normal window with the final panorama shows up

I could make a rough sketch/draft in GIMP or qt4 as how it could look, the
look could be very close to Brunos idea

Re: [hugin-ptx] Re: Product Vision (was:An idea to expand HDR)

2010-12-31 Thread john doe
I suddenly had a vision reading brunos comment, and using google...

This could be something interesting, im refering to using the analogy to
apply it to Hugin..

People mostly use google as their favorite web searcher because when you
type google you are greated with the google site and the web searcher
inmediately...

So why not when you start Hugin make the preview window show up, put options
to allow to upload images and then show the possible panorama image in the
preview window mode??

Of course the rest of the windows and tabs will be there but i think this
could be a very nice solution to see a really fast panoramic preview of the
images you upload!

Then in the same preview window or in the assitant tab you could put the
stitch box...

Fwd: [hugin-ptx] Re: Attn translators: BugFix = added translation string, sorry.

2010-12-24 Thread john doe
Ok to answer this mail in a rather politely way i will recall the following:
1.- I clearly stated before that i was not a programmer...
2.- The reason that i dont work in a group or under a group is because i
didn´t know they even existed
3.- I don´t know how translating works AS YOU RECALL I ASKED BEFORE WHAT
SOFTWARE TO USE, hence that shows that im a newbie to this
4.- The original spanish translation had and still has typos...
5.- I did or dont know there are rules on how to post in the group if there
are any...
6.- I sent a mail before regarding a problem with BOOST LIBRARYto upgrade
hugin via command line, being the fact that i havent received a decent reply
yet as to how to solve the problem...
7.- I did upload the file but not to Hugins repository since i dont have a
working account there...So, is there any responsability for that
comment???sure you asked me if they could be included, but again, i do not
have any acces permission to the hugin repository...i merely attached a
 .po file...
8.- Again, i do not know how to use POEDIT,,,or any other .po program...I
merely used the program to translate some badly translated strings.
9.- I never asked for friends starting with this, the main reason that i
offered to help is because i like working with the program and i saw MANY
ERRORS in the spanish translation
10.- You may call me a political internet group ignorant or feel free to use
whatever term you desire, as i dont have any problems with it, since it is a
fact that A) Im not a programr B) I havent use this kind of comunication
before C) No one has been kind to me to inform if there are any rules as how
to post/reply any answers in the hugin ptx group
11.- Regarding to point 10 i havent seen any rules about it...

to answer your 4th,5th, 6th and seventh point, again, A) no one informed me
of any rules regarding it, B) I havent been properly introduced to a team
yet

AND MOST IMPORTANT
C) I AM NOT A PROGRAMMERi could contribute only with translations

lastly, the only reason i use a nick is because of a google mail option i
triggered before and cant quite remember yet which was it...

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT I DONT PROGRAM, AND I DONT KNOW HOW TRANSLATING
SOFTWARE WORKS...SO IF ANY MISTAKES HAVE BEEN MADE REGARDING THAT ITS
BECAUSE OF INVOLUNTARY MISTAKES..

It's called garbage-in garbage-out, and you better look at what you are
doing
before pushing the responsibility onto others.

*You* uploaded the files [0][1] to this mailing list. I asked if they
should
be included and you [2] agreed.

To be perfectly honest with you, I did this only to get a nuisance off my
back. I should not have put on the political correctness filter from the
start, even if this means adding another entry to my long enough list of
"online-friends". It's never too late to remove the political correctness
filter, so here is some feedback to you, John Doe aka. Guerrero de Luz aka.
Ernesto Enrique Alvarado Viloria:

1. FACT: es_la is a locale that does not exist [3][4]. es_la.po is a
completely harmless file, because nobody will ever use it.

2. FACT: all of *your* posted/contributed files fail the basic test of
`msgfmt -c --statistics`

3. It is the responsibility of every contributor - whether coder, builder,
or

documented well enough that for most thing the answers you are looking for
are
at [5] (for translators) and at [6] (for bleeding edge Ubuntu users).

4. Most translations are contributed by *teams*. In a team, people work
together. I have not seen you working together with anybody.

5. Team members are aware of each other. I have not seen you aware of
others' work or advice.

6. Team members try to find an answer to their question in the
documentation
before asking others to find it for them.

7. Team members take responsibility for their work and mistakes, not push
it
onto others.

8. I have not seen any positive behavior from you on Hugin-PTX and I was
happy that you did put yourself in a sandbox (es_la.po) where you could not
affect Hugin and its main Spanish-language translation. Unfortunately this
was short-sighted thinking of mine: the problem is not going away. My
mistake. Maybe this feedback will solve it, one way or another.

9. Using pseudonyms does not help to make you more credible or likable.

10. Flooding the mailing list with plenty of trivial questions that are
answered in the documentation only makes you look like a troll. I explained
to you in private conversation a couple of weeks ago how to get the latest
Hugin for your platform, so WTF is [7]?

Hey coders, i had this idea today, I like to use QTPSFGUI/Luminance for HDR
working, personally i think its a better program to work with those files,
but since hugin now has the option to work with HDR why not incorporate an
HDR tonemapping feature??

Luminance was built with QT and the latest version comes with a bunch of HDR
tonemappers..Since hugin has HDR capabilies what do you think of expanding
it adding Luminance´s HDR tonemapping features??

I like using fattal and mantuik a lot..So since hugin already works with HDR
i see no problem with the request what do you guys think??

Re: [hugin-ptx] Re: Ideas

2010-12-06 Thread john doe
so how about creating an option in the mask tab to disable it and create a
dialog to warn that this option is useful to show the seams in the panorama
preview window?

I have some other ideas in the panorama window mode, ive seen some panorama
programs that have some advanced cropping options like GIMP´s cropping
tools..

Why not incorporate some of the croppint tools in the panorama window??

Could be KFJ, i as a beginner photographer find the show seam option very
handful!!could it be possible for hugin to include more options in the
masking area to overcome this??as you mentioned since hugin uses enblend the
show seam option would be influenced by how enblend works too, maybe using

useful...

Im thinking how about bringing in area selection tools to be used with the
masking funcitions??such as rectangle select, free hand style selection
tools??

Re: {Spam?} Re: {Spam?} Re: [hugin-ptx] description needed for translation

2010-12-01 Thread john doe

make another one...and change the file to es_la.po..I left some translation
strings empty because i could not find words to refer to them..and I think
one needs a correction to see if there is a spanish translation, im talking
about feature matching...

I will need to compare the .po file that was sent to me with the translation
i made i might finish this today or in friday...

There are some suggestions i think it might come in handy, for example where
it says empalmar, you could use the frase ensamblaje del panorama for
example..

2010-11-26 Thread john doe
i considered that..like catalans...i may think on helping with a translation
for latinamerica...spanish is the same..no nuances here..i find it silly
spanish (spain) call a pc ordenador, the literal translation is computador,
the word has a coherential meaningful link to a machine that computes...

on the other hand the word ordenador like you stated, i personally dont find
it linked to the word pc or computer...anyways that is for spanish class..

Re: [hugin-ptx] Re: Command line interface for hugin please

2010-11-24 Thread john doe
thanks for the advice KFJ, right now im into perl..as you mentioned im
learning from reading some other perl scripts that uses hugin command line
tools and other software for HDR imaging..as for the file naming i used a
common approach to the video sources, almost like the one you mentioned...i
wish somebody in hugin development tool could overhoul the batch processing
mode to allow this..

Re: [hugin-ptx] Command line interface for hugin please

2010-11-20 Thread john doe
how about i wanted to make several pto files to stitch a bunch of files in a
folder??is there a thing as mass spawning a pto file to apply it to other
picture files in a folder??that would literally save me hours of work..lets
say in one .pto file i have picture files img0001A.jpg and img0001B.jpg,
lets imagine they are taken from 2 stereographic cameras, this is a
hypotethical case, im working with about 10 video sources..

THe next row of files are img0002A.jpg-img0002B.jpg, and so on, since they
are part of a 1 minute video, forming at least 200 files..

How would i apply the .pto file to the rest of the jpgs in the
folder??hypotethically assuming they all have the same width, height,
cropping ..

so far i have gotten to the point to almost automatize the stitching
progress with a perl script, but i would like to automatically batch stitch

Re: [hugin-ptx] Re: Use hugin to construct a 3d image from 2d image sets 3d VOXEL

2010-11-08 Thread john doe
im going to start doing objectvr i just downloaded a flash prorgram that
makes a vr from sequence of pictures, but its a very nice idea to make 3d
models out of regular images..whats the difference of both of them??if youre
a customer and are viewing a 3d voxel image of an item in a store you
probally will find some very few differences than viewing an objectvr..

the main idea applies for both objectvr and 3d voxel modeling..

hugins current development cant do 3d voxel imaging or object vr...it would
be a very nice and exciting idea to write a program based off of hugin to do
that...

id like to show clients interactive 3d objects based on the items a store
has for sale..

Re: [hugin-ptx] Re: hugin and video stitching

2010-11-03 Thread john doe
hello i found this app which can be used with panotools or libpano13 to make
panoramic video..

i only works with video, sound is no suppoerted by the moment, it uses
ffmpeg and comes with other video libraries..

from this software i think it is very possible to complete it with MPREMAP
or libpano, nona or hugin to to a linux panoramic video stitcher..

Re: [hugin-ptx] Re: hugin and video stitching

2010-11-01 Thread john doe
Firstly i stated in the hugin group that im not a programmer, im a lawyer,
and im beginning to study QT4...

secondly, before ironically commenting about subjects its better to look in
the webas tom stated, i wrote the thread specifically because in DIY
sites there are threads on how to do panoramic video using hugin, with
ffmpeg, mencoder and gstreamer...but running the programs dependently..of
course you could use some perl scripts available in internet, but the idea
is for hugin to do this...

in the DIY there are tutorials on how to do a 360 degree panoramic video
with dual fisheye cameras...

on the other hand i mentioned about MPREMAP...written by the author of pano
tools..

THIS IS THE SITE..

http://webuser.hs-furtwangen.de/~dersch/mp/MotionPanoramas.html

its written
in java and uses ffmpeg and pano tools to do the panoramic video
conversions..

Re: [hugin-ptx] Re: Where to place feature requests?

2010-11-01 Thread john doe
i have an ideahave any of you seen mpremap??it is used for single video
motion panorama projection transformation...it usess ffmpeg and libpano...

Why not build hugin with ffmpeg libraries, to be able to read video and
change the projections??this could be a step towards making hugin a video
stitcher...mpremap is written in java...

nonetheless, there are some video editing programs that are written in qt4
that hugin could use some code to work with, avidemux is written in qt4 and
usess ffmpeg, so i think is VLC..

Re: [hugin-ptx] Re: View this page "Affine SIFT algorith"

2010-11-01 Thread john doe
ok im out for now, im going to check out some avidemux code...i think hugin
can use some part of it and FFMPEG to read videos to convert them to
diffrent projections and do video stitching...i opened a thread on this,
havent seen any replies..

Re: [hugin-ptx] Re: View this page "Affine SIFT algorith"

2010-11-01 Thread john doe
maybe its because the algorith isnt written for high detail pics, so it
might work with 640*480 resolution images or 800*600...

so, it would be an interesting thing to create a template.pto before, and
include it in the ASIFT source code, and see what happens??
