[ilugd] Zabbix E-mail Alert using script
All List Members, I have configure Zabbix 1.8.3 in ubuntu 12.04 LTS. All things are working fine. I am able to generate the reports, add the host for monitoring etc. According to the generated triggers, zabbix should send e-mail alerts, but it is not sending mails. As described in the document: http://dev.aperto.fr/projects/zabbixextensions/wiki/Advanced_email_notifications I am using a script to send the e-mail alerts generated by zabbix. I am able to send e-mail by using this script using a command from my terminal : echo -e Subject: Test Mail\r\n\r\nThis is a test mail |msmtp --debug --from=default -t usern...@gmail.com But zabbix is not sending the e-mail. Is there anyone in the list who can point me in right direction. I am struggling to solve this issue from last many weeks. Thanks in advance. In order to make it globally accessible over the internet, you should ideally have a public and static IP address pointing to the server. Further, in order to receive incoming mails for your domain, you should also specify the server (mail.yourdomain.com) as the MX for your domain in the DNS records. -- ___ Ilugd mailing list Ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd End of Ilugd Digest, Vol 33, Issue 1 ___ Ilugd mailing list Ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd

WHY? :) Is there any alternate, if i want to migrate from windows to linux. so tell that the alternatives will directly transfer the data and structure from windows or I have to design it again or It will be work as it is in linux through or by some emulator. Well, one possible method is using Wine in Linux to run your app after its done building and compiling. But IMHO, not a very good idea. The other alternative is to use GTK/QT with MySQL as a backend. What the hell is GTK/QT, you say GTK is the Gimp Toolkit and QT is another Rapid Application Design platform from Trolltech. Both can be used in methods slightly similar to VC++ and VB respectively, to develop apps for X. Extensive documentation is available for both online. Infact, you probably have Kdevelop or QT Designer already on your system if you did a RH install with the dev apps. You might also like to use Anjuta, which I think is one of the best IDEs available for Linux, to develop code for anything. MySQL is the free database available (and the most popular) at mysql.org. Its fast, small and lightweight and should suit your purposes optimally. All of these are in general easier to configure than sendmail, more secure and faster. (5) Domain Name Server There are tons of HOWTOs on configuring bind. Start with a few of them, learn about the basic DNS protocol and the way things are organized. Also get to know the file formats and conventions for bind. Bind is easy once u know the basics, but pay specific attention to the config files! BTW.. do read the howto on each subject first. They are really good, and better than most people can explain general configuration. I find that with Linux servers, reading the howtos gets you going. For advanced issues, ask specific questions, and you will get good answers. Ambar Roy ___ ilugd mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Yahoo!
