I have a dev server which being a complete copy of production generates
outgoing emails exactly as the production server would. I have stopped
the email service so that the emails don't go out. (ARS 6.3 patch 24 on

Another solution is to use Firefox as your browser, which includes a

Try creating a Filter that fires on the Email Address form (on Submit/Modify
where TR.Send Message = Yes), clears all of the outgoing destinations and
replaces them with a test email address. You could even log the correct
destinations in a log file or something.

Hi,
Users with Read or Floating Read can modify records where their name

that fire on submit the check the allowed form with the messages and if

I believe this is a known bug. Support pointed us to SW00298917 Push Field in
Filter generates ARWARN [66] if option Modify First Matching Request is
chosen, details are below. They told us it would be fixed in 7.5 but we
pushed for a patch/hotfix to 7.1 since it's still a supported version.
Good morning (or afternoon) all,
We just stood up a 7.1 patch 3 with ITSM 7 patch 7 on a Redhat 4 and
we are seeing some arserver and plugin crashes (with no real debug or
arerror log data to go on).
Anyone seen the same thing on RedHat?
As always thanks,
Howard Richter
Interesting... I started seeing this on our system after applying 7.0.1
patch008. It definitely was not happening before that. We were at patch004
before installing patch008.

Hi,
I have created a free utility that will help you create these Active
Links. For example if you want to change all your Read-Write-Fields into
Read-Only.

Note that this can have a bad impact on performance in Mid-Tier, as any

Rick,
Thanks I saw the following on the BMC support page and just wondered
if anyone was seeing the arserver crashes (and restarts) without that
we are seeing, that might be part of the issues below.
No idea of an eta on fixing the issue talked about below.

Along with the associated known
Ramy, you should be aware that the change doesn't really fix anything, it
only turns the message off. If the message needs to display in the future, it
won't be able to. Support wanted us to do the same thing but we said they
needed to fix it instead.

Sharon,
We have taken a slightly different approach
We created a special mail box config record on dev that is enabled
and disabled all other mail box configs.
When there is a record in the AR System Email Messages form that we
want to send, then you search to find the message and update it

Howard,
I am dealing with a similar issue on windows 2K3 P3 and troubleshooting it at

As far as I know there's no asset forms related to SD 7x and CM 7x, in fact,
you need to use the CMDB as the main repository of CI's and relate'em to

With purchase of any ITSM module, you get the CMDB, the whole CMDB, and
nothing but the CMDB. Technically, there ARE forms like AST:Asset that you
can use, but you'll have to customize the app to have them interact with the
other apps. Sounds like the CMDB forms will do what you want. I don't

Rick,
After I upgraded from 6.3 to 7.1, it was trying to use the wrong version of JRE
when trying to consume a web service. I had to move version 15, C:\Program
Files\Java\jre1.5.0_14\bin\client, to the beginning of the server's PATH
environment variable to get web services to work.
I hope
On your dev server, change the outbound mail port to something bogus - like 255
- instead of SMTP standard 25. Mails can't get out, and you can examine them
all in AR System Email Messages.
You'll need an escalation to delete the old ones after you test and before you
change the port back to
Thank you Donald...I'm opening a ticket with BMC regarding this issue as
well to add a 'me too' to the fact that it needs to be fixed in 7.1to

bug in 7.0.1 also, they need to fix that one as well

We are in the process now of looking to upgrade our AR System 7.0.1 to patch

Is this issue occurring for any workflow where there is a Push Fields action

Okay well I think I am making this question out to be harder than I intended.

know then you can set a support group to on call and add a email address that
