think it's workstation specific. But clearing the IE cache + cookies
does not help. Rebooting the AR Server and flushing the mid-tier
doesn't help either.
Once a workstation is hosed - we can't fix it.

What web server are you using? As I recall it did not recognize IBM
HTTP server.

We're running solaris/oracle on 7.1 at my current customer. It has been very
stable.
I'd say go to 7.1 - especially for the multi-threaded escalations. That

There is a select group of rich people who REALLY get into this - they

There's a certain amount of quackery to be found

Can you give us more information about your setup? Database type, server OS,
web server type, etc?
I assume you are using 1 AR Server connected to a local (relative to the
server) database.
You did not mention whether or not you are using the Web or Windows clients

There was a licensing issue with the 7.1 SLM install where it wouldn't
install when a temp license was used. Strangely it still would install
w/o the license.

I just had some issues with portmapper and the plug-in server
previously.
As far as I know this is possible - I know the filter API is used to
read/write to the ar.conf/ar.cfg.
You may need to do this though - I had to do it to get it to work - add
this line to your ar.conf/ar.cfg:

We had heaps of trouble with the normal plugin server running when the
java one was enabled. I commented it out and the normal/regular one
started working.

Unfortunately this is OOB ITSM 7 workflow - the customer here has a policy
against changing base product defects - they want to get them from BMC.
I'm waiting for a BMC tech support response now. I can easily see how the
calculation can/should be re-written.

This is a definite know issue with 7.x on Websphere. We have the same
problem. BMC issued custom hot fixes for us.
Essentially both the mid-tier and Websphere try to do the translation of
the encoded / - it needs to be one or the other but there's no
configuration that supports that.

We also experienced this error when we were having slow database
response times for some things. I have not seen it since we corrected
the performance problems.

There's a LOT of stuff to do to get this to work.
First - make sure Tomcat is alive and well. Go to http:/// http://
http://servername:8080/ SERVERNAME:8080/ and see what comes up - if your
Tomcat default page does not show you need to correct this first.

guru might be able to find a way to exploit this. It was
essentially giving you the UID of the person who logged in prior to you by
sending the wrong user session to the browser after you had authenticated in.
