player, DAC), record the output from the preamp. If you are testing
the preamp, itself, record the output from the amp. Only if you are
testing the amplifier, would you then need to get the output from the
speakers.

Why don't you guys just look at how upsampling is *actually*
implemented? It's not done by zero-stuffing, but by using FIR filters.
Just look up the data sheet for any ASRC, for example, AD1896. Please.

It's not about adding information. AFAIK, the single advantage
(theoretically, at least) of upsampling is to lessen the harmful
effects of digital brickwall filters of modern DAC chips. A lot has
been written on this, and can be found on the web.

will never buy another DAC. But, I love giving advice, nonetheless ;)

climate change is taking place, even though 10 years ago they didn't
even believe that. Now, they've shifted the argument to man-made vs.
natural causes, but day by day they lose ground, because of mounting
scientific evidence, as we witnessed last week with the IPCC report.

works, but, to say the very least, it is
obviously plausible as a scientific theory. For you to say that we must
have complete knowledge of a phenomenon before we can create a plausible
operational theory is just plain stubborn, if not ignorant.
