Three months after the last attempt I am back here. I've just put my
Transporter back into my system. The system is running SC 7.2. I've
upgraded the Transporter firmware, flashed the Xlinix and still the
damn thing is silent. No VU meter movement. The screen indicat
I've also had a problem running 7.01 SC but upgrading the TP to FW v43.
The update happens automatically, but nothing plays. The TP screen says
it plays but there's no meter movement or time display change. The web
interface for the TP also shows nothing happening.

It was moving to 7.1 that caused the upgrade to firmware 40. I'd have
persevered with it if I did not have the Transporter wired directly to
my amp.
A quick warning to others: Upgrading by downloading the Windows
executable and then errr... executing it, such that 7.1 just overlaid
my 7.0.1 insta

I ran it for a month, and had only one, unrepeatable glitch. But then

only rarely use the digital inputs as I have another DAC which I use

Today I turn the power on and it makes those noises.
Damn still not fixed.
But power off, then on, works.
Seems like if you turn off (standby) Transporter while on digital in
and then turn back on it will go berserk.
Then start networked playback, still no go, but turn it off and on, now
ok.

I don't have that one. All my 24/88.2 files (I don't have many) are
from Linn. In the test I used a number of Barb Jungr's Every Grain of
Sand and a track of Mozart serenades.
Could there be a difference between the files of Linn and those of
Music Giants?

an earlier version was also a nightmare, I had to do +/power, 1/power

Difficult to say, I would imagine, but now that Squeeze Center 7.0 has
been officially released, and idea when fw 40 will be rolled out? Or I
guess, it might be fw 41 as a few folks have reported bugs.

I tried two versions of the v.40 firmware but experienced a blocker bug:
any change of the volume level kills the audio and requires a power
cycle. This is no-go because the Transporter serves as a DAC for my AV
system, meaning my family uses it to watch TV...
So I had to revert to the release v
I'm having the same digital noise problem when playing from Optical
(Toslink). How do you revert back to previous firmware 36? I tried
reprogramming xilinx but that didn't work.

SlimServer used to run as a service, that is, I didn't actually have to
be logged into windows for it to be running. But when I upgraded to the
latest SqueezeCenter (7.0), this no longer appears to be true. If I log
off windows, SqueezeCenter stops.

Slimserver and an earlier firmware. However after reading this thread

about problems similar to yours I tried again, first updating firmware,
the rewriting Xilink and the resetting
I did the test tones... all dead. Synced to SB3 upstairs and the SB3
played... TP didn't and the bar didn't move.
Again, I reverted back to 6.5.5. I'll wait for official.
