Was there a final consensus on the new Family Tree Maker?
Some were having trouble and some were not.
It's on sale 50% off and I loved the old ones.

I seem to remember someone asking about last names on FTM and some
instructions being given. I have, accidentally, found some other usual
information that I do not think was included at the time. If this is all
stuff that is already well know, I apologize.

features of the Software MacKiev version is that it is possible to link more
than one family tree to Ancestry. The color coding is also a useful.

I've been using the FTM 2005 version since it's release. I recently bought
the 2017 .
Not a Fan. A waste of $79. Very difficult to navigate and I feel poorly
designed.
The only improvement was the ability to create a PDF that was lacking in
the 2005.

I use both Ancestry and Family Tree Maker. Cheri is correct for the overall,
but there are some things to be aware of:
* The sync doesn't get everything on ancestry. For example, all of the data
associated with documents and headstones does not come down to FTM. If I have

Pam, I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do, but you can customize
the boxes for all females by clicking the word "females" (under boxes in
the Box, Border and Line Options window) and then selecting a border color
and then a fill and shadow color, if desired. The default for all three of

if that's in your version.
To open the Options: Name dialog box:
Click Publish > Details View > Items to Include > select Name in the Included

I finally found the time to transfer my updated Family Tree Maker family
file to my mini from my laptop which I had not updated since we set up the
computer in 1911. In transferring the info, the file on the mini said it
could not open and copy because there was a file open. I do not know wha

able to make an ancestry chart that is big in Family Tree Maker. I had
downloaded a free trial of Adobe PDF creator. I downloaded it mainly to
convert JPG to PDF. Well I was playing around in family tree maker and

Thank you for your replies. I purchased this Windows 7 computer
because it has 32 and 64 bit and 32 supports FTM 16. It was working
fine before the mishap. Funny, when I use my old laptop with FTM 16
installed there is no such message and the program comes up (I have

the same with the installed program (right-click on the shortcut for FTM).

FTM support is supposed to end the end of the year. I have FTM 16. Has
anyone changed to a different program or the new company who is supposed to
take over FTM users? Any other program to make an easy switch? I am
looking for an easy switch and how to do it and what I will and/or will not
lose.

Thank you. While playing around I did see something about free and three
computers (I have FTM on 2) and will look into it further when they reply
to my question about my current FTM 16 (2006) that will not keep my
Edit/Notes as I really, really, really use this function and I hope their
y happy so far.
I think you will find your issues resolved or can report it and they can look
into it.

I have FTM 3 for Mac. I just updated with MacKiev, that's who has taken over
FTM. I had no problem with the upgrade and plan to continue with FTM.
