Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Re: Browse New Music lists all songs for all new music albums

2005-10-16 Thread Philip Meyer
Did you recently change the metadata for that album? The music was added to a folder yesterday evening. My timed nightly scan occured at 3am, and then 10 hours or so later, I tried to navigate to the album (crashed before I tried to play it). I don't believe I changed any of the tags for

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Re: Error reporting using svn trunk

I haven't tried turning on debug options yet - would those get logged by slimserver to another file, and/or get written to stdout? They get logged to a file that you specify. I tried it out earlier today. The selected debug options are written to the file that can be browsed via

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Re: Error reporting using svn trunk

2005-10-16 Thread Philip Meyer
I have changed my setup so that errors get redirected to a file. As this didn't work directly from the srvany Application registry setting, I instead get that to launch a .bat script. The script then does the following: perl -w P:\Music\SlimServer\trunk\server\slimserver.pl

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Re: Error reporting using svn trunk

2005-10-16 Thread Philip Meyer
This seems really valuable to me. I have yet to really go through the wiki run perl as a service stuff, but hope to this week. So my vote is, yes, add this to the wiki. I'm sure I'll find it usefull when I rebuild my slimserver this coming week. I updated the wiki, but then when I checked my

Re: [SlimDevices: Beta] Crash when opening Web UI

I tried deleting the cache folder and rescanning, but slimserver crashes with the same error early into the scan. I have reverted back to 4605, which I know was stable. Phil ___ beta mailing list beta@lists.slimdevices.com

[SlimDevices: Beta] Error reporting using svn trunk

2005-10-14 Thread Philip Meyer
I had my first SlimServer crash today, since switching over from using the windows exe nightly downloads to using svn/trunk. I have no idea why SlimServer crashed - no errors are reported in the Windows Application Event Log. I assume that as perl is running from srvany.exe (I'm running as a

[SlimDevices: Beta] Softsqueeze track progress problem

2005-10-13 Thread Philip Meyer
I was playing a track, which reported a track length of 05:05. The track played fine, but then started to play the next song without updating the display, which was still trying to report progress through the previous track. The progress bar was at 100%, and the time remaining reported

Quite frequently as of a couple of weeks ago but it seemed to have gone last time I updated the version (about a week ago) and did a full rescan. My problem happened with svn 4600. I don't frequently use SoftSqueeze, but I was suprised that it had only gone up a single beta release number since

[SlimDevices: Beta] Scanning new changed music

2005-10-13 Thread Philip Meyer
I thought an effort was being made to make full rescans required less often - is this for 6.2? I just updated some tags and performed the partial rescan; in particular I'm changing an ARTIST tag for a song that is by more than one artist. For example, I have a song called Chill Out (Things

[SlimDevices: Beta] Artist sorting broken?

2005-10-12 Thread Philip Meyer

2005-10-10 Thread Philip Meyer
I'm not certain that it's necessary, but I always stop the Windows service before performing a SVN update. This can be conveniently done from slimtray, then start SlimServer up again afterwards. Prior to doing this, I'd often get an error while doing the update, as TortoiseSVN was unable to

You're checking out too much. You only want to start at http://svn.slimdevices.com/trunk/server/. You're currently trying to pull down a large wma file I would imagine. Okay, I stopped checkout, deleted my local copy, created a server folder and did an SVN checkout of

When searching Slimserver 6.2 (9/24) and all results do not fit on one page, not all results are displayed. For example it returns that 37 songs are found, but only 12 are in the list, and there is no next page link. Only when using advanced search a correct list is given (including next-page
