I know this is not Ontario but it is a wonderful significant sighting in Quebec
on the St Lawrence River.
Today at 6 pm we saw over 1,000 Snow Geese in a field on Ile d’Orleans just
outside Quebec City. They took flight to the Northeast at dusk in one large and
several small groups.

Full Stop. Following yesterday's significant rain and clearing this
morning, westerly winds picked up and took the geese back on their journey.

rare geese last fall, was blanketed by a good-sized flock of about 25,000
Greater Snow Geese. This is likely a large percentage of the birds
remaining in Eastern Ontario. The geese may frequent this area and points

The wetlands along Kaiser Crossroad in Prince Edward County are just starting
to open up and today there were about 50 Snow Geese, all white-phase birds.
Directions: From Picton, go east on Highway 33 toward the Glenora ferry. Just
before the ferry (There will be a sign.) turn right on County Ro

The TUNDRA SWANS are arriving, with at least 650 seen this afternoon in flooded
fields just south of St. Clair NWA. There were also 5 SNOW GEESE (including two
blues), at least 1000 CANADA GEESE and a small number of ducks, including
REDHEAD, WOOD DUCK, MALLARD and AMERICAN BLACK DUCK.
Today at 11:30 am there were 5 Snow Geese on Reesor Pond. 2 blue morphs and 2

Geese, likely more than 1000. There are still several thousand Canada
Geese. Others: 1 Great Blue Heron, 1 Northern Pintail, 1 Ring-necked Duck,
1 Rough-legged Hawk being chased by a Common Raven, and 2 Sandhill Cranes.

Today we saw Snow Geese in a field WEST of Winchester. They were seen from the
north side of Co. Rd. 43, about 2 kms west of the Inkerman/Ridell Rd
intersection, opposite the New Holland farm equipment dealer. There were about
500 and they were about half a km away.

Mark Gawn's post on Monday was no April Fool's joke...today (April 3rd) there
were multiple thousands of Greater Snow Geese incl. a good number of blue
morphs (maybe 5% as Mark suggested). The majority was concentrated in the farm
fields east of Morewood and Cayer Rds. north
Today Jon Ruddy and I surveyed the Winchester area hoping to see some Snow
Geese. We were not disappointed. There were several large flocks in the
partially flooded fields adjacent to Cayer Road north of Winchester and along
