Back in the late 70s when we had a big drought here, I just removed the trap from the garage sink, capped the sewer line with an appropriate pipe cap, and put fittings from the sink drain to garden hose size. Then ran a garden hose out maybe 20 feet to the dry soil. At that time I had no problems

Can't help with crossing the walkway, but you don't want to add load to the outlet hose, as in having to push through the pipe, you want to use the garage sink as a flow control device, kind of like a capacitor that the washer charges up quickly and the slower flow through the hose, pipe etc. disc

Problem might be that you don't know for sure that the 2 120 volt lines are actually from the two sides of the service. There may be an easier way, but I think you'll need an A.C. voltmeter that goes at least to 250 volts to chec between the two hots to see that they are actually 240 volts apart.

The wind turbines I've been around, some on boats, some huge commercial ones, are pretty noisy. I'd check pretty carefully before investing. Were I in a position to go solar, I'd do it for break evenzies in money just to reduce dependance on gas or coal. Can't do it in a rented house unfortunate

Scott, Yes, it has a frequency meter and measures capacitance, and maybe some other stuff i forget now. It also has LEDs at the probe tips if you care. The jacks that hook the probes to the meter are non-standard so replacement probes might be an issue. but for that price, you can't go very wrong

I've sometimes just use plains backwards, on the pull, even though it makes holding them hard. You have much better controll. I agree about scrapers, they cut, sand paper grinds and leaves junk in the pours of the wood. All good violin makers finish with scrapers wherever possible. Tom Fowle
