Well
carrots, granny smith apples, ginger, cilantro, celery and lime juice
I try to use all organic, especially on the carrots and the apples.
I use about 4-6 good sized carrots, 1 large or 2 small grannies, about a
1-2 inch piece of peeled ginger, 2 stalks of celery, handful of cilantro,
half a lime

I can get on board with that... reducing sugar and simple carbs as
much as possib
That cocktail sounds quite tasty, even without vodka. Would you mind
giving me your rough recipe?

I've seen several theories come and go. Don't worry about fat -- just
reduce calories. Don't worry about calories -- just avoid fat. What *has*
worked for me to some extent is moving away from processed food.

I just finished writing something up about how actually it's hard to go
wrong reducing the amount of salt in the diet, actually. I sold it, so I
can't post it here, but essentially, until that point I walked around
saying yeah but I don't have high blood pressure and we know there's
nothing wrong

"Good Calories, Bad Calories" isn't a diet book in the sense that it
promises that if you eat "X" and don't eat "Y" all your problems will
be solved. It is mainly a historical outline of the heart disease
debate, why cholesterol isn't the enemy it's
I think it will.
I believe intense cardio keeps the plaque from building. I have no
facts to back that up but my years of intense training kept my
arteries clean as a whistle.
I'm sure there are studies, how many pro athletes get heart disease in
old age? I'm going to google it...

Indeed. For those interested I would recommend the book "Good
Calories, Bad Calories" which goes into a lot of detail about how and
why the current mainstream thinking on this topic got started, and
what you can do with your diet to be healthier. There is also a

I don't really like fresh cow's milk. It's so...thick and...fatty.
And...in some places it's actually difficult to get grass fed stuff like
you're talking about.
Wonder what those people do?
I'm on a totally processed foods diet with food bought outside. I may do a
steak now and again for myself
ok.
Goats milk cost much more and has a stronger taste but it doesn't take
much to get used to.

And I'll answer you seriously.
Goat's milk is supposed to be even more digestible than cow's milk, but I
haven't drank any yet and the idea of committing to drinking something for
3 weeks that I don't even know how it tastes doesn't appeal to me. I can
get both. I'm going with cow's milk this t

There are people who have been preaching the whole foods thing for years.
Its really good to hear a cardiac surgeon do it as well.
My doctor has a hard time believing my diet and my test results match. I
eat a diet of mostly farm based local foods, very little processed foods.
Lots of grass fed
Fascinating stuff.

yeah, it says to me that I'm on the right track trying to avoid processed
foods. I've never seen that omega6 vs omega3 discussion before, though it
rings a very vague bell I think -- certainly worth reading up on

There is something to the whole anti-inflammatory diet. For some people.
I know I feel incredibly better when I drink my anti-inflammatory morning
cocktail of carrots, granny smith apples, ginger, cilantro, celery and lime
juice, and when I don't, I feel like crap, can bar
