You'll need a CCO login/password. Once you're logged in, go to the Software Center (under Service & Support) and click Cisco IOS Software. You'll need to identify the router you have and the features you want, then you can download it. - Don -Original Message- From: Kurdziel, Peter [mail

I have only used 3 routers connecting to each other w/serial a DB-60 pin on each end. It worked. the only thing to be done on the serial interfaces would be to set the clockrate on the serial int that has the DCE part of the cable attached to it. still, your lans would be connected on each of

Hi all, We have an access-list that has to allow ony DNS and SMTP traffic to come through. I have configured DNS successfully, but if I configure the Router to allow SMTP traffic to an internal Host.it does not work. If SMTP has to pass I have to open all the TCP ports. Any Sugg. will be welco

Re: PIX bootup break key??

2000-07-07 Thread Michael Losa
The PIX should give you a 10 second countdown when it boots. During this time there is an option to boot into ROM, I think you hit the "Esc" key. If you hit the "Esc" there it should go into the boot ROM. As far as I understand in order to add an activation key you must reinstall the IOS. I di

The Cisco VPN 3015 has encryption speed of 4Mbps, however what we want to encrypt is a 100Mbps link. Is it possible? The Cisco consultant told me these two speeds are different. However I wonder that if I want to encrypt all the traffic, what's the maximun bandwidth I could have. Thanks in advanc

At Networkers 2K all the Academies were told to implement 12.0 on their routers. I assume that's because the new exam (or perhaps the next revision) is based on it and is probably why Todd included it in his new book. Tom Lisa, Instructor, CCNA, CCAI Community College of Southern Nevada Cisco Re

We do it all the time (for two years now) and haven't noticed any problems. However, I should state that the EE in our group says it isn't a good thing. I guess we'll keep doing it since we have a SmartNet contract. :) Tom Lisa, Instructor, CCNA, CCAI Community College of Southern Nevada Cisco

Re: Rate-limiting

2000-07-07 Thread Matt Holbert
Your input rate-limit is ok. I just tested it. The problem is with your output rate-limit. You can't use a standard access-list for output rate-limits in this situation. You want to limit the output traffic based a destination address, which can NOT be accomplished with a standard access-list.

I am far from sure, but my guess is that unbound means host-not-specified. That would make sense since your IP address is a class C and the wildcards allows all hosts on a class C. Again, I am not sure but that would make sense. Hth, Ole ~~ Ole Drews Jensen Systems Ne
